Hi. Mine was delivered late last week, and it is a gorgeous-looking loco. Being an ex-Pat Welshman who now lives in the Waveney Valley in East Anglia, this was the ideal example for me. Enjoyed your review.
@@stephendavies6949 Wow, very nice, not quite the hills of Wales. Lol. Ya it really is a gorgeous colour for the loco, just stunning. Glad you love it. Thankyou, glad you enjoyed it. 👍👍
@@Railwayrob Thankyou so much, hope your keeping well? 🤣🤣🤣🤣ya you know, just can't help me self. Lol. It really is a big selling point for me the sound, make the Bachmann model sound almost boring. Lol. Thanks again. 👍👍
Hi, great review of a lovely loco with superb visual impact, this is a ultra detailed model like the Sutton models, for me the lack of a rotating roof fan is the only refinement missing to make the model the best in class, Accurascale did say that rotating fans would appear on models in the 3rd run, hopefully this will come to fruition, great to see this superb class 37 pulling a rake of JJA auto ballaster wagons, maybe Accurascale will produce those wagons in time and do them the justice they deserve at a price where modellers won’t get their pants pulled down with the secondhand Bachmann prices on DreamBay and at model railway shows & exhibitions, many thanks for sharing.
@@StormmyStormmy Thankyou so much. Ya it really looks incredible. I did hear that about introducing a working fan but never knew when they were coming in. Not going to lie I did think of you when I started using the JJA wagons and that would be amazing if the could make an up dated version. 🤣🤣🤣 very true about the pricing, but to be fair they have a good set up with 'more you buy the more you save' option. Ya yhe second hand prices of these wagons are absolutely crazy, but I'm guessing you want one then you 'have to' pay the price.....I'd rather not pay that. Lol. Your more than welcome and thankyou for your comment. 👍👍
@@mrmartinb1615 Hi, those JJA wagons are superb in my opinion, I know they’re expensive but if you wait you will get some for a reasonable price, I’ve been lucky in my pursuit of my rake a didn’t get my pants pulled down by greedy sellers, I have 8 Rail Track curved top units a one exclusive model also curved top in my collection, it’s a shame that Bachmann are the only Uk manufacturer that produces them, their last versions of them are weathered and very expensive, 2 things I’m not a fan of in this unique hobby, maybe Accurascale might look into producing them as a pack in the future, probably cost £250 for 1x generator unit and 4 non generator units in various liveries would cause a meltdown where they would sell out in hours for a genuine rake of must have wagons, they still haven’t made my year by producing the Rail Head Treatment Train wagons even though they can get the moulds from Hatton’s, I would personally buy 2x sets of them if they decided to produce them, let’s hope they do the right thing in the future.
@@StormmyStormmy Ya they really are superb model, ya the only trouble is trying to fund the cheap ones. Lol. Bet your little collection looks amazing? I think give it time and the big companies will go down the road of building the JJA's, I bet they will look incredible......possibly with lights? 🤷♂️... The advantage of Accurascale is the more you buy the more you save, I really do like the ICI wagon they are making. The rail head treatment train would be amazing if they made it. @@mrmartinb1615 Accurascale have made some superb items over the years at prices that make the competition stand up and take note, those JJA wagons are no harder to produce than the 4 coach and 1 x dvt set they produced a couple of years ago, that pack had complex lighting in all the units and it sold for £269 which was seriously amazing, Accurascale’s attention to detail is superb! The JJA’s wouldn’t command that kind of complexity so I don’t believe we modellers would get our pants pulled down like Bachmann try to do on a regular basis even if their products are quite bulletproof, Dapol’s MRA wagons are on my to buy list but they claim they can’t produce them for a price all modellers would be tempted to buy, secondhand prices of those MRA wagons are £225 plus for a set of 5, if they did a rerun of them brand new for let’s say £189 they would sell very well even though the couplings were very fragile and poor, technology has come a long way since those wagons were released over 12 plus years ago, even smaller runs would definitely be a very popular choice like Accurascale do with their runs, their RTC coaches were a classic example of popularity when they sold out all 400 sets in a few hours, those coaches are the best RTC coaches on the market full stop! I don’t believe Accurascale will ever produce them again so for those luck modellers who got them I say fair play, I would like a set but I refuse to pay an extra £80 plus for the privilege and never will regardless of them being in my collection, not all new announcements float my boat but they do other modellers so I guess it’s a blessing for them.
@@StormmyStormmy Very well said, they have come a long way, specially in quality and my hat does come off for creating the 'more you buy the more you safe' That is perfection and ALL manufactures should most definitely take note of that. Now I wonder if they took the job on in recreating the JJA's would they put working lights on them by the doors? That would be awesome if they made a rerun of the MRA wagons, mind you £225 don't sound bad, if they could produce them at that price as that makes them only £45 each......But I would think a pack of five would be a lot, lot more than that. Ya the couple between the wagons......a little different to say the leased. Wow 12 plus years ago. Well you never know, they might do a rerun of the RTC coaches. Hi Martin, would you say that getting this model with sound and all the extra lighting functions that come with it, is worth the extra £90 you have to pay? Also do you know if it possible to run a sound fitted loco on a hornby select controller? Thanks
@@Henrystrains543 To be honest, ya I do over a standard model with nothing other than lights. £90 is £90, it's I what it is. For me Henry it really is night and day difference for what the loco brings to the party. I would always try to save for a sound variant but that is just me. At least if you had a DCC loco but it didn't have sound you would get better control over the loco and you would have all the lighting functions to play with. It does come to personal choice....You would probably have to research that about the controller. If the controller can control digital (DCC) trains then be very mindful of how many 'functions' the controller will operate. Some locos have over 20 different functions on them, lights, low horn, high horn, cab door etc, if your control only goes up to let's say 10 for instants there are ten functions that you can't use cos of the controllers limited amount functions. As far as I'm aware any digital controller will control any train with a decoder, but please research this, we run the ZTC and my bro runs the NCE power cab, both digital controller but to operate they are very different. Hope this helps, it's up to you but for me......sound all the way. 👍👍
