    Nice Video, but let me make some corrections as I found the problem on my 2012 Ford Edge. The driver fan is the AC fan and only turns "On" when the AC is "ON".You mentioned they are supposed to be "ON" at the same time. "Wrong". On the schematic looks like the fans are connected in parallel but they DO NOT turn on at the same time. They work independent from each other. The module sands different DC voltage to turn "ON" The AC Fan, ONLY when the AC its turn ON. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work. PLEASE BE ADVICE... The two 8mm bolts are NOT THE SAME LENGTH. If you put the long-one at the passenger side IT WILL GO TROUGH THE RADIATOR PLASTIC TANK. and you will need to replace the radiator.

    • @justinwmusic
      @justinwmusic 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But you replaced the fan assembly too and it worked again? The fact that they weren't both turning on at the same time was his justification for replacing the fan assembly. I wonder if this was the proper fix in both cases regardless of how the conclusion was arrived at. Unfortunately I just had my fan assembly replaced, as my car was overheating, but the intermittent AC problem never fully went away.

    Like so many comments...I love the detail and great video. Took mine to a repair shop before watching your video, Ugh! 182.00 later, I have the same problem as when I took it in. Watched your video and low and behold you hit it right on the head. I looked and the fans are not working. Ordered the parts and expect I'll have the ol girl cooling again!
    Update: Just finished installing the fan assembly. HAPPY HAPPY! I will add this job is soooo much easier if you just remove the radiator hose at the radiator like you suggest.
    THIS IS THE VIDEO TO USE TO REPLACE THESE ON THE EDGE!!
    I will add one mistake I made, when reinstalling the new fan assembly make sure the top clip (retainer) goes over the aluminium fan in front so there is no gap between the fan assembly and the evaporator fins. Thanks again !
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

    I got to fix my wife's 2010 Ford Edge cooling fan. I've watched so many videos on how to do it. I'm confident enough that I know how to do now. Thanks.

    Thank you so much! My wife’s edge was doing the exact same thing. I put it on my manifold gauges, charged it again, and it was still doing this. I’m going to order a fan and replace it! Thanks again.

    Wow. This was really fun to watch. This exactly what my 2011 Edge with 98000 miles is doing in Tucson AZ. Replaced drivers side HVAC Blend Door Actuator thinking might be that. Nope. Just ordered new fan assembly. Hopefully that fixes. If not will then take to shop for possible system recharge before summer 2024. Thank You... So fun to see video without a bunch of stupid music and clean language.

    BAm and just like that, heat dissipation across the condenser in lack of the 2nd fan. This guy killed it. Ive got an Edge noticed 1 fan not coming on when compressor was turned on. In the Florida heat thats impossible. Also stays cold when driving, My car would actually over heat with the ac on in idle without the 2nd fan so Re assured on that Fan Assembly. which is sold with both fans, given their on the same circuit that makes sense. Thank you friend!

    You are so informative and you explain things so that I can understand. I'm having an issue with my 2011 and was trying to fix the issue myself as I don't have a lot of money for repairs. I took it to AutoZone and had them run a diagnostic check but it was unable to tell me anything except that I should take it to a mechanic, so now I found you while searching for answers myself. A few months back it actually overheated twice while I was sitting idle and I immediately shut it off. Then later I started having issues with my AC. I can hear it running when I turn it on but the air blowing out randomly works. And it doesn't seem to be coming out as strong as it used to. It feels cold enough when it does though. I guess I'll have to find a mechanic that can maybe check it out for me without killing my bank account. If I could just find out what it is, I can most likely do the work myself. Sigh....

    Is that a Hessaire evaporative cooler pointing at the front of the car at 4:43? I see it is doing a good job blowing the papers around on the front of the hood. Being in the shade, and having that fan blowing cool air at the condenser will drop your high side pressure. Of course it is way too hot in Texas to turn it off. Great videos btw, just subscribed.

    Is that standard temps,.55° to 60° on a 95 to 100° day?.. I checked mine last summer on a 101° day and it was blowing 45.7°, but I did have a new condenser and Receiver/Drier installed just prior to the check. Thank you Eric, I really enjoy and learn a lot from your videos.

    That shop fan in front of car is doing what moving down the road does. Forced air through condenser. These Edges have issues with a/c when radiator fans aren't performing. Usual cause is bad brushes in fan motors. Replace with Motorcraft fan assy only driver side is A/C fan, if it has tow package you have 2 fuses (40amp ea) if not you have 1 60 amp. Fans should speed up when A/C is on also.
