Duino Coin was founded by Robert Piotrowski, a 17 year old from Poland, and since then, he's been able to gather a team of developers and contributors to create an awesome project.
From the Duino Coin Whitepapers rev 5:
Duino Coin has no intention of becoming the best, biggest, or most modern crypto.
Duino Coin has no intention of rediscovering privacy either.
Duino Coin does not use complicated systems, algorithms or solutions.
And it won't Because with thousands of different crypto coins in the world they will find it in a few minutes.
However, DuinoCoin is distinguished by its instant transactions, the ability to acquire coins in various ways on a large number of platforms, global availability, cost effectiveness, openness, simplicity, ease of exchange, and friendly growing community of avid miners who also want to contribute to our project.
DuinoCoin is meant to be a platform that allows people to learn something and at the same time earn some money (thanks to already existing exchange services)
Why did we create Duino Coin?
Simply saying, there are many cryptocurrencies available but most of
them can be mined only using powerful CPUs, GPUs or ASICs to make
some real money.
We wanted to change that, so that’s how DuinoCoin started. It is also a
great example for teaching how crypto-coins work thanks to its heavily
commented, open-source code.
What do we want to achieve?
The main goal was to create a cryptocurrency capable of mining on
Arduino boards, regular computers and other devices with low
computing power.
Since the system we've created is working really well (just look at the
amount of users!) we are now expanding our project in many ways,
including adding new ways of getting coins, expanding our audience and
making mining as fair as possible for every device - in short - improving
what we have
Why is Duino-Coin centralized?
Making Arduino and other low powered devices not only profitable, but
just possible would be impossible to maintain if the coin was
decentralized. Some people don’t like this idea, but this is the sacrifice
we had to make to be able to put our idea into a working system that has
fair rewards for practically every device.
We’re not the first centralized cryptocurrency, for example, Ripple (XRP) -
it’s centralized and it’s going very strong.
I, as a founder of Duino-Coin think that decentralization doesn't make
much sense: why bother downloading blockchains or other useless
things if 99% people don’t care about it and just want to easily use the
coin without waiting ages for stuff to load.
Storing stuff inside a secure server also ensures the funds won't be lost.
Quoting developer of leading crypto mining software, xmr-stak: "This is
the cryptocurrency world. Everyone is looking out for themselves. What
your friend is trying to do is advance his social position by giving you bad
financial advice. [...] Because just like privacy [decentralization] is just an
empty marketing slogan [...]".
I haven't met anyone that had problems with centralized crypto. If you
don’t like that idea then there is nothing stopping you from using another
cryptocurrency. All in all - it’s your choice.

That means I need to turn on my PC all the time because arduino must be attached to the detected usb. Although the power consumption of Arduino is low, but the pc is high.
You can actually purchase a Raspberry Pi and use that as the computer instead. I did not go over that in this video, but I am thinking about making another video where I make a true Duinocoin build with a Raspberry Pi!

Duino is unprofitable nearly all the time, including how they limit/throttle down efficiency for the devices. Just mine Monero.
Great video, Only problem I have is the port is greyed out. I am an FNG to mining, had my pc doing duino when I saw this. ordered new nano's and this is as far as it will let me go. maybe someone here can point me in the right direction with minimal flaming..
Let me see if I can try to help you out, if it's greyed out, then maybe the arduinos are not successfully connected? Are they blinking when you connect them?

YES! That's pretty much exactly what I would do if I wanted to scale this up. Duinocoin has executables that should perfectly fine on Raspberry Pis. I have considered making a video about me scaling up the operation of my mining using a Pi. Let me know if you try it out yourself!

Hi. Can tell me what is the problem if the red light is on. I did everything like you on video,but at the last step when I write my username and port and identity and donation and I press the enter they closed the program and nothing. That sounds really strange... Let me ask this first: when you upload the program onto your arduino, what does it say at the bottom of the screen? Does it say it uploaded successfully?
@@TedGetsBread hi. Yes it say upload done, and after when setting-up miner port, and rig name I see he got the board chips et name ch340 I think. And laslty in a miner. exe I push 1 enter to start mining and something showup like lots writing and just close everything after 1 sec.

I believe you're also going to need some kind of pc unit to run the duinos. If you don't want to keep your PC on, I'd suggest you use a Raspberry Pi instead!

not the nanos they get connected to your computer, if you get an esp with wifi it only needs a power source and a wifi connection.

Hi Larry, yes you need to plug them into a computer, but I believe you can also get a miner on a raspberry Pi and connect it to your arduinos as well to mine with them. I want to test this out very soon!
