Looking to move to Abu Dhabi. I will pay 6k€/month less tax, and have better healthcare (which costs me currently 609€/month taken from my salary with poor service in return). I will not miss the human rights of being drunk, demonstrating or stabbing people, and also not the cold weather. I will only miss the greenery and hiking in the forest, but will enjoy living in a modern place with respectful people around and excellent connections to all fantastic places in the world. And psychologically happy to continue working 12 hours/day, without paying half of my hard earnings for ridiculous government overspending on nonsense.

As far as I know FaceTime works in hotels and I’m sure if you have a good VPN it will work. I personally don’t used FaceTime as I just use zoom if video calling friends and family.
@@chrisgermann6658 the roads are huge - Dubai and AD roads are busy.. London traffic.. but venture further out and the roads are generally pretty clear and have minimum 3 lanes

Hi, this was a really helpful video. I’m a teacher form the UK and have been asked to interview for a school in Abu Dhabi. Could I ask what the term times are? As in UK is September to July with 13 week breaks with the 6 week break being July-August. I’m finding it difficult to find consistent information. Thank you.
This really depends on the school - the term dates do vary slightly from the uk but are typically as follows for an independent school. Start last week of august. HT mid October (1 week) Winter break mid December (2/3 weeks depending on school) Feb HT end of feb Spring break end of march (2/3weeks) The spring break aligns with the Eid holiday, therefore we don’t get a summer HT break meaning it’s a long one. Summer term starts early April and ends early July - you’ll get a long weekend due to second Eid. Again all schools vary slightly but they should follow this.. you’ll also find there are long weekend due to national day, prophets birthday etc. whichever school you’re interviewing for should have term dates for this year in their website.

Hello mate im from the uk me and family want to move to abu dhabi in the near future after enjoying a family holiday. Buying a property wont be a issue after selling in the uk but my biggest concern is getting a job. Im self employed as a cab driver and my wife works part time in retail. Any advice would be helpful, would you say securing a job job out there first before buying a property or what steps did you follow first. We can put down min 2mil dirhams and get the 10 year golden visa, does that help.
getting a 10 year visa will definitely help - if you both want to stay in your respective careers you’d be able to. Moving her before you get jobs really depends on your financial situation - if you can afford to move here unemployed then you can and you can find work after your move, or you can try and secure work in advance.
The private areas are the most pet friendly.. I’m not in a private area currently so we take zuko out near where we live. Neighbours are friendly with him.

I guess you could use a vpn on your phone for your video call problems... I've heard proton vpn works great, and it's free. Otherwise, enjoyed the video. Here's another big pro: Job packages!! You would often get free housing, health insurance and school allowance. Con: you'll never be a citizen.

Have a job offer in Abu Dhabi and this was great.
I can say, when I have been in the region for work, FaceTime worked with any sort of VPN.
