I can’t believe I have not been wearing lots and lots of navy when it’s my favorite. Instead I’ve been trying to wear black and yet avoiding the black clothes. I allowed myself to be influenced by someone who loves black and yet it isn’t me. I’m going to have fun thrifting some navy sweaters for this winter!!
This video got me thinking on my approach to packing. I don't travel light and I'm okay with that. I'm always prepared. I tend to pack early and rearrange, add, subtract, rethink everything before I actually leave. The guest ranch I'm visiting in August is remote and while I've been more times than I can count, I always have to think through it. I've been in every season so that changes it dramatically too. I'm totally team packing cubes and luggage scale!
So glad I found this video. It’s late so I’ll watch it in full tomorrow. Just wanted to share a couple of packing tips that occurred to me today… First, pack your shoes in super thin and lightweight scented bathroom size trash bags. They smell great and you can see which shoes are inside! Second, lay a Glad Kitchen Fabreeze scented lightweight stretch bag in the bottom of your suitcase. They smell great and can double as a laundry bag!
Packing cubes work great for kids. Roll top, pants, underwear, and socks in a bundle then lay each roll in a line inside the packing cube. Each cube can hold 3-4 outfits. Pull one roll out, wear it, dump into dirty clothes pile. Quick and really easy for kids.
I love how your wardrobe is so color coördinated! I also look good in navy, lightblue, lavender, off-white, seagreen and taupe. From now on, I’m going to build my wardrobe around those colors. And I also love packing suitcases that way! ❤ love from a fellow Sagittarius!
I used packing cubes for the first time over the holiday…..what I didn’t like was I couldn’t see what was in each one bc they look the same. I always put rolled clothes into plastic zip lock and squeezed the air out and it was easy to see inside. I was not where I was able to hang cloths
I've had luck with packs of multiple colors. That way, I can put one type of clothing in one color bag and be able to tell it apart. There are also brands that have mesh fronts for eay visibility.
This was so interesting, informative and helpful. Thank you so much. All the information here will be helpful when I prepare to pack for my summer vacation. And while I will be going out of the country for several months, I do believe all the same principles do apply. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Thank you! The brand is Cider. I thrifted it. Found it with a quick Google search... www.shopcider.com/product/detail?pid=1019828&style_id=119586&sku_id=83438¤cy=USD&local=en&country=US&link_id=6f99b5b9617f492f84fcf6e044e80e70&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAABvq22v6r8nH74DnsDoW-Tsa-DNZy&gclid=CjwKCAjwm_SzBhAsEiwAXE2Cvxu2zOItpNMgqaj5CrvkmHtqkDuwUEghV7C4nd2ARgrWmWGv1rHcHRoCFOYQAvD_BwE
Good and timely tips! I wonder if the packing slip could be kept in your purse/handbag in case you wind up having the carryon checked and it goes missing - this way you would have a list of what was in it for replacement purposes. I'm a pants person and realized I no longer have any skirts at all after doing some wardrobe culling - I wore white pants on a trip to California once - they looked so nice but I spent too much time carefully checking out all the outdoor seating in an attempt to keep them clean 😄! I've also tried to pack lighter-weight items not just for the weight as far as carrying the bag, checking it, etc., but in case I need to wash something out in a hotel room so it dries quickly - learned this on a cross-country train trip with a night spent in Chicago midway between coasts when I just needed to wash one item.
It was a gift from my daughter a few years ago. I'm not sure the company is still in business. Here's the IG account... instagram.com/hooray.for/?hl=en
Thank you! I thrifted their leopard belt, new with tags, about a year ago. It didn't hold up very well. Still searching! Maybe I'll give them another try.
Please please curtail the sales pitch on what you do… too lengthy …. Just get to the point or project and. We Will get IT…. But I always click out before you start you’rePOINT!!!! We are not stupid!!!!! Just show or tell first you won’t have to sell!!!!!

We went on a 24 day road trip and packing cubes were how I kept outfits together and my suitcase organized. Highly recommend them.
That is awesome!
FYI, Talbots currently has a 1" leopard belt that looks nice. Very interesting video!
Good to know! Thank you!! I'l check it out!!

Sounds like we'd be fast friends!! Thank you for your kind words. Good luck with your new color palette! That will be beautiful!
Very much my packing style too. Works well for me also. 😊
J Crew Factory has a nice leopard belt. I have had it for several years.
Wash your dark clothes with 2 microfiber towels they keep the light fibers off your dark clothes and same when drying your clothes.

Forgot to say Congratulations to your son on his graduation!
Thank you!!
Lots of variety, but it all works!
I’d like to do a one on one with you at some point. I’m in retirement and a classic casual with some edge.
Hello! I'd love that!
I love the gratitude shirt.., where did you get it?

I’m going to Denver soon. Can you share your favorite thrift stores?
ARC on Cortez between Denver and Westminster. Also, Salvation Army in Boulder is usually great! Have fun!
Thanks!

I hope you have a really nice day. 💖
Your tips seem ok but I lose patience waiting for you to get to the point. Shorter is better.
Thanks for your feedback.
