Hi Matt I haven't been fishing for years went with wife today over to Budleigh today we caught 11 little mackerel and wife caught a Gurnard put them all back. We had a great time Kev
Soooooo excited!!! Had my big interview for the perfect job in Cornwall today, went really well too! If I pull this off, it'll be goodbye land locked Rugby, in Warwickshire, hello YEAR ROUND sea fishing, instead of the two weeks I currently get!! Love your vids, Matt, easily one of the most personable, enjoyable sea angling channel creators on TH-cam, thank you for sharing your knowledge, skills and passion!
Good old whiting. where a lot of people don't like them but I'm pritty.happy catching them tbh and they taste pretty good on the bbq 😋 great video as always. Tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
nice matt yet again ,i live in a motorhome next to work in kettering so im hopeful i can just drive to the coast park up and go fishing when i get days off.
Awesome again Matt in your travels r u catching fish that r not normally caught in that area catching fish here that r normally much further north .my dad would make the best fish cakes from whiting. Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick
Nice one, Matt. Lovely colour to the water. I always am hopeful when the sea looks like that: not too clear, not too dirty. Shame it was so calm though. Decent flounder. I just back from Cornwall and enjoyed some of the best bass fishing for a long time. I look forward to your next one.
Hello Sir, thank you for your videos. I discovered your channel. I am a beginner and I would like to catch fish fairly quickly because I fish with my family at the seaside or otherwise in a freshwater lake. Do you recommend the carolina rig, knocker rig or dropper loop? Thanks🙋♂️👍
It depends ! Generally for sea fishing in the uk on clean ground I’d always recommend a three hook flapper to beginners. It gives a good bait trail and you can vary baits.
Hi matt you ok fella, i can't beleve you got the whiting back already hahaha another 3 to 4 week up north here in grimsby. You watch next session they be pestering me n ive jinxed me sen hahaha. All the best from up north on the east coast GRIMSBY. P.s love a shout out matt hahaha
Mackerel still around but italic weather will be our problem in sept/oct if winds stay down or blow from north then they will be worth a go mostly on ebbing tides
@@SaltwaterAngler A mate was out on the South Devon shingle a few days ago and said there were still a lot of Mackerel around. He had a couple of nice Bream too. Out tonight with lure rods to see if the Mackerel will play ball!
I've been told some people put an extra bait n hook above a 2 hool pennal rig so you hook a small whitening and leave it eventually it will bring a cod, you won't catch cod on a dead fish bait but that live bait above the big bait can put you onto a bigger fish
Interestingly we used to get loads of Pollack off the piers and arms years ago. Not unusual to catch 20 under the a palace pier and I ONCE caught a coalfish which fought much harder than pollack. I had some large whiting (3/4lb) last Winter. Wonder if there's pollack under Eastbourne or Hastings piers?
Hello. :) Thanks for all the videos. I hope this doesn't come over too much like complaining but, this is my request for not too many shorts please. I've been having to unsubscribe from a bunch of other channels as I find my 'inbox' swamped with shorts, and I'm not keen on the way they are presented to us by youtube either. I'd love a filter setting that keeps them out but there we go. Thanks for helping some of us less mobile viewers spend a bit of time ,almost, outside doing the things we love. Best wishes, M.
Yea I understand that. I was hoping you don’t get notifications for shorts and they are just for those that like to scroll. I’ll be honest I don’t want to do those portraits style style vids! Do you get notifications or are you seeing them in your feed. Thanks for this comment
@@SaltwaterAngler They appear in my feed.. I don't mind some short videos and there will be times when something short is perfect, but they way youtube delivers the shorts, straight into random stuff if you accidentally scroll even a tiny bit, no comments that I see, and swamping your feed just really annoys me.. I guess I'm just old school living on my pc or laptop.🤷♂ My tip for them, let Tiktok do Tiktok. Thanks for taking the time to reply.👍
Yes , have covered this a lot on instagram and Facebook. Off shore breeze, big tides and a dry spell sees it disperse - if we have a settled period after rain then your right very concerning
@@SaltwaterAngler I took a few plaice home the other day and could have sworn they smelt funny...tasted fine though! So I should avoid fishing immediately after heavy rain and probably not until there's been a big tide wash to get rid of it?

I'm on the Devon/Cornwall border! If you make it down this way, have a look at Talk Sea Fishing! Lots of us South Western Locals on there! 👍👍
Nice little mixture of fish well done 👏
Thanks Daniel 😊

Ok thank you
Can I mount dropper loop nodes?
and put 3 hooks in the loops?
and put the lead at the end of the line.
What do you think ?
I love seeing the fish go back. All mine go back irrelevant of species. I’m not a fish eater though.
Yep understood 👍 I’d never knock anyone for taking a fish to eat.
Always beautiful video from you🤗
Thank you 😊
Nice video made me laugh when you knew it was a whiteing well done nice one.
Thanks Stevie ! Whiting rattle bass pull and rattle and those flounder pull a little

Yes they will become more numerous too !
wow amazing a lot of fish landed👍👍👍
I love autumn !
6.03 I called thornie, they're in along the beach on Monday. Going tomorrow for ting workout 🐸💖🤗🤗🤗🤗
Good to see you out there Matt! Have the mackerel disappeared now? Desperate to wet my lures again soon. Might head for Eastborne soon. Tight lines!

Nice one Robbie - a stinger is a good one a small baited hook for the whiting attracts to a 6:0 off the same shank
It's worked for me catching other fish no harm in having a small hook bait to lure things in, that's fishing, good video btw
Great video Matt 👍
Cheers Bob 👍

There is ! I filmed some a few years back they are a possible catch but very small.

Perfect live bait those whiting
Agreed 👍
Where is your lure rod? Seems like yesterday you were hauling whiting. They have come in very early. 😢😢
Lure rod is in use still 😉
Many thanks 😊
@@SaltwaterAngler Thank you very mutch... have a nice Weekend.... see you….
Happy days I’m out tomorrow can’t wait
Nice let us know your results here on the channel 🙏
@@SaltwaterAngler will do buddy been quite hard fishing this year up here
Well it turned out a good day 3 bass in all two for the table 👍
Great 👍
Are the tips spliced in on your rods, they look very sensitive, standard rods or continentals?
Continentals yes 👍
@@SaltwaterAngler what rods are these please?
I’ll put the details on the website www.saltwaterangler.uk on the blog so you can check them out !
Have you finished lure fishing for bass this year Matt ?
Yes Sir ! Some footage coming 👍
Will fish with lures right in to December
The scurge are back😂
Only small and not too big in numbers at least

Yea it’s not an exact science, also see how tide carries the crap east or west and fish uptide maybe ?
I'm going to hammer the whiting for dog food this year
Yea go get them !
That’s exactly how a prevalent species becomes endangered
