Please do the review of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, I think both cars are awsome, being the Fortuner the best looking, but may be the Pajero Sport is more practical for less money.

why people always saying blabla to the 3rd seat? if you want more space then get the Toyota Hi-Ace. this segment is for 5 adults and 2 kids in the 3rd row seats or just 5 person and luggage on the third row. just be thankful, toyota gives you 2 seats on the last row.
I know this is the Toyota equivalent of the Lexus GX in the U.S; I still wish this was available in the US as a cheaper and better looking version of the GX.

Why don't you mentioned the fuel consumption? How powerful it is when press the power mode? Also, you never mentioned no cruise control.
Tested, still prefer the power from the diesel engine, but not appreciate the feature from the diesel ... Can we custom select the feature during the purchase?

I'm so disappointed with the diesel spec for this new fortuner,
Lots of offroad function has been disabled although the price are higher than the hilux.
It's not fair if only the 2.7 petrol variant get all the accessory, safety and new offroad technology.
It should be fair for the two types of variant either the petrol or diesel version.

It's not sold in the United States. It looks like a Toyota 4 Runner or Sequoia sold in the United States but with a smaller engine.

You're driving the Indian-spec Fortuner, that's why the headunit in the Malaysian-spec model looks different.
how if you try the third row seats with its leanest position and the second row sliding in its most forward position, will it be acceptable for adults on a short trip?
If i remember correctly, the 3rd row seats cannot recline. 2nd row can slide further forward. short distance is fine for sure. then again, how short is short? :D
+GC Mah the 3rd row do recline and ive check that people with height 1.6m or below will not touch their heads to the roof, but then again, their legs will touch the 2nd row seats as it is cramped for footspace even though the 2nd row is fully slided to its most forward
Oh ok. yea, for short trips, it's definitely livable :)
acceptable for tall adult (175cm+) on a very short trip.. but someone with height under 170cm would be fine even on a longer journey... fyi, the old fortuner has much better 3rd row room than this new 2016 model.

I think you can slide the 2nd row forward a little bit to give 3rd row more legroom.
And anyway In My Humble Opinion that 2.7 N/A engine is so bad, nearly nothing good about it compared to the 2.4 Turbo Diesel, even the old 2.5 VNT Diesel is better than that 2.7 Petrol. That 2.7 need high RPM to unleash the power since it's petrol engine.Maybe the best description for that engine is "An old rather big engine with low power, low torque, and very bad Fuel Economy."(Even only compared to the diesel engine,the new 2.4 and older 2.5vnt)

to me,,,umw is cheating.....this 2.7 was old enjine.....unlike other country..they are all put in new enjine and gear box

2.7 petrol engine will last twice as long as the 2.4 diesel engine. The 2.7 petrol engine is also used in the much more expensive land cruiser prado. Yes very slow and bad fuel economy but very very reliable.

I just drove this car recently...honestly...I think the 2.7 is totally not sufficient to carry that heavy body. from total stop to moving it, its like the engine is suffering so much to move it. When moving around 60 , then over cut other car also seem like a lot of lag and engine is suffering...I don't understand why you say its sufficient...And the suspension is not as good as what new Mitsubishi is...Mitsubishi Pajero sport seem more comfortable and able to grab the road.

I personally agree about the 3rd row space but you have to remember that this is Toyota which is more reliable and this specific model has better looking *not to mention the resale value*. Oh, maybe the better looking aspect is just a personal taste.
for 200 grand . man screw the resale value, this car isn't even worth the money, And I'm sorry, I've moved passed the traditional old man thinking of buying cars. Korean cars are used as taxis in many countries in the world, and they use it for a reason. Its sad to say, but this attitude is what keeps UMW a.k.a bloodsuckers alive. Why buy a vios ? Because it is reliable .... thats all the car has it going for itself.

agree.....Jpn car (especially toyota) is reliable....but Kia is good too....alot people said KR car got no 2nd hand value/spare part expensive etc....but thats 5 years ago...UMW know SEA customer will choose them even if thy gv lower spec and higher price....so why not give KR car a chance?

A big dissappointment for me as the 2.8 turbo diesel variant didnt come into Malaysian market, 245Nm of torque actually is not really that useful compared to turbodiesel engine when it comes to serious offroading

+AutoBuzz.my ya i hoping for that too. Because i owned a previous gen Toyota Fortuner 2.5(G) TRD Sportivo. i love the way it drives but the diesel variant always get low specs.. the diesel variant is a good option if it comes equipped with the same specs as the petrol variant..
Interior and features are superb but exterior is too poor as old one and no sunroof also
3 years later still no 2.8 diesel engine *FACEPALM*
