You rock, this is hands down the best video on this subject in all of youtube. If only I knew it was this easy back when I used to live in a dry county.
edit: Well it has been 19 days now since I made my first brew following this guide to the letter, using the exact same yeast and even to the point of not mixing the sugar. The only difference I did was I used a variety of juices making like a wine punch and I waited 14 days to bottle because the balloon was still going strong. Now that my wine has been sitting in the fridge for about 5 days however I decided to give it a taste and damn it is good, I don't know how strong it is but it definitely has a kick, it is easily 14% if not stronger. So once again this is an awesome guide. I can't wait to try other juices and combinations.

Man that's crazy people in dry counties must do this all the time perhaps sell it underground.

What an awesome video. There are tons of wine making videos on YT that complicate this extremely easy process. I would like to note that not only does having wine with the sediment in the bottom look bad, it also will cause you to get the runs.

cheers for the awesome video man, i already got two batches one small apple which is still fermenting and another grape wine is as well still bubbling but not that much, its already been 10 days, and i just start making another batch around 1.5L of apple wine but i put around two cups of suger in it " sweet apple wine " is my goal on this one" and yes im using dry active yeast from a local shop.
First 4~5 days the smell was awful , however after like 8 days it smells like alcohol in it, the grape one smells like wine, and the other small apple batch smells like Savanah cider.. cant wait to try them out once they stop fermenting :)

One of the better done videos I've seen. Iike how he included saving the lees for the yeast mutation over multiple batches. Most people ignore that. Plus it basically is yeast and yeast hulls already combjned.

Hey there! Yay to making your own! 😁😎🙌 An easier way is to use frozen juice and water... Also if you purchase a fish tank hose and put a line from one 5gal to another 5gal and seal the air then a few extra yeast packets the fermentation will happen naturally and draw liquid into the other bottle.. sugar looks about right.. I can't remember the full recipe.. a friend of mine from Georgia showed me how to make it years ago! Potent! 🤣

I’ve never cared for the balloon method. I prefer an airlock or in my case a tube airtight running to a small cup of water. It keeps the gnats from turning wine into vinegar lol

It is a preference, as well as using the bread yeast as opposed to using brewer's yeast. Also not using an airlock of any kind and simply burping it, like using a 2liter bottle produces a much better product IMHO.

    • @72fr250

Pretty much. Your concentration of alcohol may vary depending on how tolerant your yeast is to alcohol. Just try it out and if your wine is still sugary at the end, then your yeast died before converting all the sugar to alcohol.
