- I found the perfect way to center my segmented rings for turning on my lathe. It is called the Rob Browns Best Longworth chuck and is available at ronbrownsbest.com. I also score HUGE savings @ www.advantagelumber.com/speci... I got purple heart@ $4.30 a BF......
I see you posted this two years ago but I just now found it. I wanted to say thanks a million for the excellent presentation. Ron Brown
Thank you Ron Great tool.
Ron makes some great stuff! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
I am thrilled with it. Thanks for stopping by and the comment.
WOW you are making us jealous with that timber. Last time I paid $20 AUD for a 6x6x1.5 inch Purple Heart. 5 years ago. Ron Browns Longworth Chuck is a great addition to the tools.
I could not afford it, but hell at that price I had to. Plus they ship all over and I want to share any deals to my friends. Besides if this country is going to burn ... I'll die in my woodshop. :)
Ooh I love new toys. 👍🏻 That’s a great idea! I need to just break down and get one. That’s a huge piece of Purple Heart, and you got a steal!Mike
Sometimes you just gotta pull the trigger. Thanks for stopping by and the comment.
Nice Longworth chuck and an amazing price for all that wood. Looking forward to seeing you turn it. Cheers, Huw
Just came up with a plan so the turning will begin soon stay tuned for my first big turning. Thanks for stopping by and the comment.
Thanks for sharing, looks like a great product. Full View and Like 👍
Thought I would check out your channel and I see you have things I am interested in as well.
For a long time I was using my cole jaws to center segments but it is a pain to change the buttons so often. So I ended up building the longworth style chuck just for segments. It is so much nicer having the infinite adjustment.
I will be checking out more of your channel soon. But right now I need to get the finish on next weeks project.

Thanks for stopping by gart I'm Brian and a very new woodworker just started in September.
Nice to meet you Brian and you are doing great for just starting in September. A small warning...THIS CAN BE ADDITIVE! LOL
I did my first turning in grade school and trust me that was a long time ago. I still love it as much now as I did then.
I just subscribed and will be watching you progress as a wood turner. Your off to a great start!
Take care,
Gary

How do you center the rings when they're too big for the chuck?
With this truck I can get up to 12 inches diameter and that’s all my lathe will handle

I have a Harbor Freight lathe. I can rotate the headstock 90° which lets me cut any size. I’m finishing up a 20” platter right now.
wow good luck my friend.
I believe he sells a bigger one.
Where did you get the adapter at?
