i got into the shantae franchise when i was younger and i was looking for dope ass games (i can't believe i'm saying this in 2023) on the appstore and i saw the one that is a DSi ware game i installed it played until the pay wall and then forgot about the shantae franchise until 2021 when i just found the same game on the eshop and bought it with the rest of my Christmas money
Yeah, I was mostly just joking at the beginning, and I'm sure most people probably didn't get into the series for those reasons. But with how thirsty most people I know talk about the games, it's kind of hard to believe otherwise, lol.
Any plans on a video for seven sirens? this games weakness is that it was a Kickstarter. Cause it relies solely on donations from fans for new content. Id say the Sirens is the better game.
So you aren't alone. While I think Pirate's Curse has the best story, Half-Genie Hero is the one I think has the best gameplay and I love half of the DLC. I got into this franchise because I was in a side-scroller phase and Risky's Revenge was on sale 40% off and Pirate's Curse for 20% off PS4 store and I was hooked. Shantae is now one of my favorite video game franchises of all time. Overall I am really glad you made this retrospective, but my sole criticism is that it's kind of a downer with your tone and language which really doesn't fit the topic at hand since all of the games are lighthearted and fluffy. If you end up doing one for Seven Sirens, try to be a little more upbeat and just enjoy yourself.

HGH is a great game and fun all around. Have no issues if people prefer it as their favorite of the series.
I like the 1/2 genie hero game. The latest one gives you tons of different game modes so that's cool. Makes it more replayable.

Maybe someday if more people watch this one. I do think it's a better game than this one overall, though.
