Total Recall (2012) Piano Scene (Director's Cut)
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 12 พ.ย. 2017
- Carl Hauser (Collin Farrel) plays:
00:22 Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata
01:00 Beethoven - Tempest Movement 3
Piano Sonata No.17, Op.31, No.2 “The Tempest” (3rd Movement)
I don't own the rights of the video.
It was made for entertainment purposes only and not for profit based on Fair Use Law.
So I only ever remembered the Director’s Cut of this movie. When I saw the theatrical I was like “ehhh it’s not bad but the DC version is better” I preferred this version over the theatrical. Greatest example is this scene: if you compare it to the theatrical, his reaction in this one made more sense because he’s a literal different person
I remember this was the original scene i watched the first time I watched this movie. Then later when I watched it again I thought I was going crazy. Because I was trying to explain to my friends that it was Ethan Hawke in this scene. But no one believed me, I'm so glad though other people felt the same about this scene. And it makes the movie way better in my opinion
That's who I was thinking of 😂
Same yo. You’re not alone, lol.
Yeah I was so confused when I watched it again on vrchat, the one I watched was the director’s cut, and the one I watched as a kid was the normal version.
oh i didn't know that actually thanks btw least i believe you now like today sorry to hear some dumb fks claimed that he's not in that movie.
Efecto mandela?
Strangely enough, I only remember a few scenes very well from the movie, and this scene was one of them.
it was a great scene :)
He actually picked the piece and played it himself
Go to Rekall to get your memories back 😅
I like the directors cut much better. And unpopular opinion but I actually like it more that Arnolds version. This one was more closer to the short story than arnolds version.
I like this movie aswell
I agree, this version feels closer to a Philip K Dick sci story ahead of its time whereas the original TR was just an action vehicle for Arnold. Arnold is great but this version is NOIR and intense and why sometimes the critics bash Noir because they dont get it and miss the entire Dark to Light themes story etc
Yeah, imagine if they had included the invasive alien rodents bit too lmao.
@Kncperseus I think a lot of people have been bashing it because it just has Collin Farrell and jessica biel in it. I find it unfair really the hate they get. Ever since he did Alexander people treated him as if he's the worst actor alive. Yet he's done so many films that have praised his performance, especially now as The Penguin. And Jessica Biel granted she's not great but she's not terrible either. I blame the choice of films she's picked. But if people seen the illusionist she's amazing.
Yep , I liked this movie and this scene.
me too :)
Honestly the tempest movement 3 was WAY better when played slower like this
Watched the theatrical version on Netflix recently, and I was confused why I just kept seeing Colin Farrell instead of Hawke.
See, in the DC, there are scenes of news reports on public billboards showing the face of Carl Hauser (Hawke), as one of the operatives of the Resistance during the initial parts of the movie.
This is why Farrell's Quaid says "Oh shit!" when he hears the name "Carl Hauser" - he recognizes it. It's like some random guy learning he's actually Osama bin Laden but with altered face and memories.
In Netflix/theatric version, the billboards scenes showing Hawke as Carl hauser are removed. So, it makes it extremely confusing when Farrel's Quaid appears stunned as the Hauser reveal, given the audience have no context about the name.
The studio's cut of TR 2012 reminds me of the same sort of bad decision they made in BTTF 2 ... deleting the shot of Old Biff disappearing from existence after he comes back to 2015. "The audience isn't gonna understand". This director's cut is better than the studio's cut.
Comparing the Theatrical and the Director's Cut of these two scenes, I have to say that the exposition delivered by Ethan Hawke is far better and it makes sense that Hauser (Hawke) would undergo surgery to look more like Quaid (aka Farrell). Plus, Quaid's reaction of "Oh shit" makes more sense when it comes to seeing Hawke's Hauser appear. Honestly, they should have kept this scene in, as it adds more fuel to the mystery of who Hauser was before he became Quaid.
Nice ..
The man which was the resistent in churches over all that longer time than in your calendarys
Очень символично, герой играет "Бурю" Бетховена...
какую первую песню он исполнял? вы знаете?
What was the first song he was playing? Do you know?
How wide 67 commentarys that Video lookable and all comments counted From the Response ?
I remember that secne and how I remember its not Ethan hawke speaking to him it's him self .. that's so strange ...... Does anybody else remember that ? .
There are 2 versions. The 1st version was with Ethan Hawke. The final version that went to the cinemas was the one with Colin Farel talking to himself. You remembered that correctly. This one is the rare one :)
Yeah I was thinking same thing
Yees, finally someone is thinking like me, and okay i understood that there is 2 versions, but even from the beginning, why they putted someone not himself and what is the use of Ethan hawke in the move, how is he in the movie, why the director put him in the second or the first version ?!!😂
Im really still confused 😂
Finally I found one thinking like me
Mandela Effect
can someone plzzz explain how that ethan hawk's face in the hologram instead of collin ferrall's before i go crazyy
This is from the director's cut of the movie and Ethan Hawke is Colin Farrell' s character before he had plastic surgery. Earlier in the movie, Colin Farrell finds a video of himself saying this is not your face and that he had plastic surgery.
2:12 and 2:30 I didn't know about this until now
This scene with Ethan Hawke is best than the other¡
This one is my favorite too :)
It's the first time I see it, only saw the one with Colin
I'm starting to like this better than the original cut
Colin Farrel me parece absolutamente sensual en esta escena y con esa musica 😍💋
I'll have to watch Recall again. I can't remember this scene.
There are 2 versions of this scene. One with ethan hawke as an hologram and one with Collin Farrel. Maybe this is the reason why you don't recall it
You should've said I don't recall this scene
@@Milk88488 we don't recall this scene
We can all say that's a Total Recall!
So I'm here you was right

00:22 Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata

Piano Sonata No.17, Op.31, No.2 “The Tempest” (3rd Movement)
@@tvtributes thank you
I like the other version better but that's just me.
Two Weeks it ain't noodle, don't noodle...
be the oven kind of busted where oliver travels
Now I know why he said “oh shit”. That name didn’t mean anything in the theatrical cut. So now it makes sense since it’s Ethan Hawke. Also makes sense when the girl in the car says I’ve been looking for you. Shouldn’t she know his face? But plastic surgery.
Are you watching Mr Robot season 3?
I want to binge watch it. I 've made videos on previous seasons though :)
Ioanna Koliofoti yeah, I can't wait for your videos about Season 3. So far its been gold and its going to get crazier.
Ethan Hawke is Adam Jensen….. holy shit…
The Resistence IAM Florian Schramm
The face in the video he is watching is supposed to show his face and not that guys face
This is the directors cut version of the scene
No cause its supposed to show his face all way through
in director's cut it's a different actor and they changes his face with plastic surgury. The vrsion which was released both are played by same actor.
This version with Ethan Hawke workes better with the story. The message is recorded before he was kidnapped and given a new face.
Did they give him plastic surgery, because he’s not him.
There are 2 version of the movie as far as this scene is concerned. There is 1 version in which the hologram is Colin and a second version in which the hologram is Ethan Hawke who is supposed to be the original hero who had a plastic surgery and then looked like Colin
the beethoven chistmas miracle of broken special k macv be the oven 0 error id snail mail on a razors edge

yea I love that version better haha

The shittest part of the directors cut. Hauser is the same guy with a different memory. You don’t throw a trash bag like Ethan Hawks as Hauser. Trash
Why is Ethan Hawke a "trash bag"? Care to elaborate?
This comment doesn’t make sense bro
