Hello, I just love Euphorbia. I have a Amygdaloides Purpurea and the colours were great in wintertime and fantastic in spring when he started blooming. When is the proper time to take cutting from this Euphorbia?
I love your videos. They’ve really inspired me and my planting and given me confidence to try new things like cuttings. I had great success with the persicaria purple fantasy. I’ve never tried euphorbia, but will now. Is it okay to do it this time of year?
De Kleine Plantage sells Euphorbia x pasteurii 'Brown's Strain'. I grow E. mellifera in the Netherlands and it has perfectly survived the past five winters without protection (in a sheltered spot).
Really clear vid thank you. - only thing is, you warn about irritant sap and then let’s it get all over your hands! This has fast nasty affect on some and also some pets - so wd be better if you practiced what you preach.
I've not used rooting hormone for any cuttings for a few years and have had success. I'm sure it might help though if you wat to improve your chances :)
I`ve bought 3 cuttings off ebay. 2 are fine but 1 has yellow leaf at the bottom that is creeping up and it`s not growing new leaf at the top. I`ve not over watered it. Kept them warm and under a spider farm 1000 led at night. The other 2 are fine so I`ll just put it down just not getting everything quite right.
Got a unit farmer2000 today. Seem the same as the spider for a lot cheaper. Another Euphorbia Characias is now looking druppy after a night under the light. Been potted for 4 weeks so the roots should be ok. I am new to growing these so perhaps I have the wrong soil. I`ll google it lol.
Just tried this with several euphorbias in the yard - thanks for the video!
Great video - clear, informative, interesting and showing how the cuttings have developed is super helpful too. Thanks!

@Chance Gabriel happy to help =)
Can you plant cutting directly into garden?

That's so good to hear the videos are helping you out 🙂 absolutely, it's a great time of the year to take cuttings from most herbaceous plants 👍🌴🌿
Great! Thank you. Look forward to the next video. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Nice vid! very beautiful plant, cannot find this in the Netherlands. You know the lowest temperature they can get?
Thanks! It's pretty tough, it can take down to -10°C in some areas. It's got amazing flowers 👌🌿

Do the euphorbia cuttings have to be bloom-free?

Very fair point 🧤
I noticed you did not use any rooting hormone. Do you think that would help

Can we keep it indoor?
It is definitely a plant the prefers to be outdoors 🙂🌱
@@GrowParadise thanks
Why did my cuttings rot the day after I put them in the pot? They didn’t manage to stay alive for 10 weeks
The compost was probably too wet, ensure there is really good drainage for new roots to form 👍
@@GrowParadise Thank you for your answer, may I also ask, can I propagate it by putting it straight up in a glass of water or does it need to be soil?
How can it be too big .. it looks great BIGGER LOL
Haha! I agree but it was getting close to me having to build a bridge up and over it so that I could get out the back gate :)
Please wear disposable gloves and eye protection! My friend got a bit in her eye and had to go to emergency.
Wear gloves!
