This is the best video on youtube explaining facebook ads in a straightforward way and not making it seem overwhelming. Thank you so much Charles. Wish you the very best!
This is exactly why I stopped Facebook advertising long ago. I realized how difficult it was selling digital products through an email list. It wasn't for me so I chose the organic route. Good point when you said the ROI won't be in streams. I think spending money on Facebook ads to try and get lots of streams is a huge waste of money. Some might disagree with me and some might be making it work. I'm not really a marketing guy so I'm just speaking from experience. I appreciate your honesty and transparency.
Very useful info, you get straight to the point. Definitely going to try this for my first song I’m releasing this week and then will try the conversion campaign when I find more of a sense of who likes my music. Thanks!
Hey man, been watching your videos and they are really helpful. I'm no longer able to run conversion campaigns on Facebook now since the latest changes with the whole domain thing.
Dope video man, you’re doing all of us a huge solid. Would love to see the video on conversion campaign and how to retarget people who’ve shown interest.
Thank you for the video, it's a good starting point and was quite helpful. What goal should we choose in our campaign ad if we want to promote a music video for a new song and this way to reach a new audience for our music?
Good question but I’d say it depends. Is this your first ad campaign? If so, a brand awareness campaign is a good start. Goal should be exposure like % views of the video. Think of it like this: next time you release a new song, you can create an audience of people who viewed 50% of your video. As an example. That would be a great audience!
This was fantastic. Made me feel like I actually understand the process and now have enough knowledge to actually begin successfully running and implementing ads campaigns where I need them. Thanks you Charles
Very helpful thank you . Would like to know more about the snowball effect of going from reach to consideration to conversions . Hope we can see that from you , thanks again man !
This was helpful, thank you. I have question - do you need to have a dedicated video for the ad? Can it just be a still image of, for example, an album cover? I don't really have much video content I can use for ads (I don't have much experience with making videos, and I don't do live/recorded performances)
Super helpful video, appreciate you! I had been watching a lot of videos that suggested running conversion campaigns out of the gate, that was not leading to any results at all on any streaming platforms. If you could do any more videos on how to build on this that’d be great!
hey Rico, I recommend sending them to a middle layer (either your website or a toneden page for instance) this way you can re-marketing to the people that click on this link. Make sense?
This was very well done and your voice and sound are easy on the ears:-) I’m much more clear than I was and I thank you for that ! - but in my specific case I would like my targeted audience to stream/ purchase a specific holiday song that’s on all platforms. Perhaps the way to achieve this is put this at the top of my FB music page once they get there. The less steps the better however. Is there a way to have a link IN THE AD that goes right to my Hypeditt link ( which has all the streaming/purchasing choices. It’s there that they may leave an email as well. I am very ‘green’ at this advertising aspect. I’ve been successful at getting on playlists but I would like to expand the spins /purchasing . Thanks so much!
Yeah. Just use your hypeditt link in the call to action on an ad. You can make your campaign goal “traffic” - FB optimizes to get clicks on your website link. This would probably not be the first ad someone sees though. Do it when retargeting people who engaged with an initial reach campaign.
hey mate! this is great thankyou so much. I was wondeing how do set up the next add to target the nextthe people that looked at 5 seconds of the video?
is creating an add the same s creating. campaign? I cut find where to create a campain on my facebook artist page , only create an add? and the set tup looks different to this
Hey Charles. Really helpful. Thanks so much for sharing. @6:30 , the video you're talking about making, I'm assuming that's not a music vid to go with the song?
I want to run a Facebook ads for a gospel music artist, I'm planning to run ads for the cover then re-target for the official release can I use TH-cam as the landing page for the video views for the official video? (Obviously we don't have any product after the release, except for subscribers.) The goal is to get more TH-cam subscribers
Hi! I would like to now if i could drop keywords somewhere in the ad? Like for you, can you ad 'charles cleyn' as a keyword somewhere? or similar artistst that are not in the suggestions shown by facebook?
Hi man! Great video! What would you say is your conversions to new Spotify listeners rate? If you have 100 conversions how many new listeners do you get? Cheers
Hey Charles, I love that you taught us that our investment was in the people, as the spend would never be met by streaming revenue. Thank you so much. You created clarity in a space where there is too much jargon and confusion. Really appreciate this.
I ran ads on Facebook in 2021 for two of my songs for one month each . They were just TH-cam links . And I stretched 200$ for two weeks twice on each one. So two campaigns per song. I put my ad on link clicks. On one song I got 300 plus link clicks both campaigns. On my other song I got 800 plus link clicks on both campaigns. I gained subscribers on TH-cam. and I got comments and likes on my fb ad. Now I’m 2023 I just ran a ad for my music video . And it said I have 2500 link clicks over two months of time. But when I went to my song on TH-cam I only had 400 views. My ad has 44 likes. So my ratio is decent. But I’m just tryna figure out why fb keep sayin I’m getting link clicks but I’m not. It makes me feel like they got bots clickin on the ad to fool you so you keep spending money. Cause Facebook ads are definitely not the same as they were when I used them in 2021. And the ads I ran in 2021 , the link clicks matched the plays on the TH-cam video
Some folks are lucky enough to have a band etc and are out playing gigs. These guys will be using FB ads to try sell their music directly. So they might be aiming at Spotify or such. But some of us are stuck at home for various reasons. Do you think that putting a track on TH-cam and directing the ad to YT would be the best option for us guys? Reality check. I'm not going to be famous and have a song in the charts as the artist. But if an established artist recorded one of my songs it would be a nice alternative with one hell of a pay cheque.
@@CharlesCleyn Ah..didnt know YT ads existed. Thanks Charles. I'll google YT ads and see if they are similar to FB ads. I was talking to a guy on a forum who ran a Facebook and only had 10 bucks. Whatever selections he picked, he ended up being charged a thousand bucks. So you need to be careful. I'd only have say a total of 40 or 50 bucks so I need to make sure I dont select $50 per hour or per day.
Any questions about running facebook ads for musicians? Let me know in a comment ↓
I'd love to see a step by step video or series explaining how to set up a conversion campaign which includes Pixels
Id like to know if FB Ads are any good if you dont own a business -> cant use pixels?
Hey there, can I create campaign for my cover song videos?
Yea how do you get to that initial page?
What do you think about running Multi advertiser ads for musician?

I’m a beginner, and a folksinger with a harmonica rack. I plan to use some of these ideas and see how they work.

Thanks brother, I've been struggling with these ads recently. Respect for this! Getting our music heard is quite the endeavor! Enjoying the process:)
To this day you are the only one actually breaking down the process step by step from scratch. Thank you !
nuh uh
Thank you! This was very helpful can't wait to try this out :)
This is so helpful 😣❤
I'm an independent South African artist and I am about to release my debut E.P and this has cleared up so much confusion for me❤
"Building that audience. And paying for that audience as an investment. That will eventually convert."

Great video! Please do more, just subscribed!
Thanks for information!
This helped out a ton dude keep the videos coming
I was hoping you would show how to set up a campaign that targets audiences that you have identified in a previous ad campaign..
great video! is there a follow up video for how we finally get to running conversion ads?
Retargeting check out videos on how to do that it think it might help
Thank you for this! I really appriciate this as my first song ever is dropping soon
I thought this was excellent and well explained. Great work
Really helpful Charles thank you. Would love some more details on this approach and building campaigns.

This was incredibly helpful man thank you so much!!
thanks man! That someone does make money from streams with facebook ads it is a big lesson
Great video! Thanks!
You’re welcome. Good luck with your campaign!
For some reason my Facebook ad portal layout looks completely different when I go to the ad center...why is that???
I think I need more info on conversion campaigns and what they mean exactly. Thanks, Charles.
Happy to help if you want to learn more Gwyn

Yes, it can be just a picture, not a problem but I can say your picture ad will likely not convert as strongly as a video ad.

Can you please start from the beginning, where are you on facebook? biz profile? personal profile? how did you get to the screen you're working from?
Should I direct people to spotify or youtube? Should i release spotify before youtube?

Hey Xave, exactly, it's not a music video but an ad video. For example, a video of you talking directly to the camera about your new music.
@@CharlesCleyn ah thanks for Clarifying Charles. Have a great weekend.

DO NOT USE FACEBOOK ADS!! They separated the audio from the visuals on my last post and took my money!! It looks fine here on TH-cam.

thanks a lot Nonick :)

Hey Jonas, each campaign will vary because of your audience and budget so that's a tough one.
Do more videos on how to upload videos to ads

hey filler, head to facebook and then in the top right you can go to "create ad" and that will lead you to a similar place.
