Funny thing is we have sampled other trucking videos and with the exception of Trucking Together and Supertrucker Dan, the others are simply TH-camrs who drive trucks and most are phony as 8 dollar bills. Hey Alice they have air actuated release valve for your fifth wheel. You just push and hold your button on dashboard while you pull out from under trailer. The last truck I had had one. It was great, once you have one you won’t want to pull another handle on fifth wheel. Stay safe. See y’all on next one.

Some of those CEVA trailers seem to have tyres within an inch of their life - that would scare me. I guess I go for more tread depth the better - maybe because the roads i drive on are not so good - especially in wet weather.

Just wondering I've been doing this for 18 years, always think of buying a truck. The only thing that holds me back is maintenance, can a guy make it having to use shops. Don't have the knowledge like yourself and just truckin and others do😢

My truck I drive had the same problem with Jake's not working so my company is not letting take it out till they can rebuild kit and so whoever drove the truck I am using did not tell them it need a clutch so I am stuck Montana at the ta waiting on a next order from. The boss
6.3 with a light load is not good at all! I've ran a cat with 3.36 ratio and it would get 7+ with a light load. The gear to rpm ratio is always going to determine your fuel economy!!
@Trucking Together with a light load id say that truck would easily avg 6.8 to 7.2. It was governed at 70mph and I think it turned like 14rpms at 70. If you get that truck out in the Carolinas and such it would get 8+ with a light load. That was a slope nose T660 too so maybe you are losing some with the hood.
@Trucking Together if I ran that truck at double nickle with a light load it's going to get 8 to 8.5 all day long because the rpms are only gonna run at like 11. How many rpms you are turning minus wind resistance is always going to make a difference on your fuel economy. This volvo I'm in says it has a 2.47 in it and it turns 13rpms at 75mph. It's getting 7.5 @75 easily.
You are seriously comparing a 660 to a 378? I previously mentioned it here, but just adding the external air cleaners has been proven to cost almost 1 mpg at highway speeds, and the 378 isn't as aero'd up with fairings etc either. Anything over 6 is decent for this application IMHO.
A cat in a 660? What year was that? And what cat prefix. Promise if you’re going off the dash you’re at least a full mpg off if not more. We’ve ran 3406Es in T600s back in the day running reefer and 5.5 was the norm. Van Kampen ran t600s from Michigan to CA with cats and they got just under 6 with theirs, I almost bought one.
