this is your hardware i used and i also have a video of your bifold hardware which i also used. see if you would sponsor me we could be great friends lol
The only downside to these doors is that if you have to close the door quickly, you really can't. Unless you don't mind the slamming sounds. They do look nice though.
incorrect lol there are 2 guides on the doors, one guide is mounted to the baseboard and hooks into the groove in the bottom of the first door. The 2nd guide connect to the first door and hooks onto the groove on the outside door.
Any single bypass kit will work but will need a few small modifications to work. You can email me at rfcrustics@gmail.com in the subject just put youtube supporter. i will take through some steps to create your own setup.
I have the same set up as in your video but I can’t find double bypass, double doors that when opened, will leave the entire entryway open. All I find at Lowe’s and HD are doors that bypass and leave half the entryway blocked. What do you recommend?
What distance from the edge of each door did you mount the hangers in order to get that perfect overlap of the wooden borders when the doors are closed?
@@huskylover73 Thanks! I actually decided to follow the instructions from 1925workbench, which instructed me to install the hangers 1/2" from the edge of the door. Turned out great for me.
People don’t buy them for climate control my clients just love the way they look in their homes. Plus most homes have central heat and air so all the rooms are evenly heated.
Hey Dan, sorry just saw this. You can use the single bypass barn door hardware for this setup. You just need to hook the 2nd door to the frost door with a floor guide. The 2nd door should also be 1/4” shorter then the first door. You can get the single bypass hardware on amazon.
@@huskylover73yeah simple for you!!! But I need to bid on two closet’s tomorrow and I just found this. I’m concerned about the tracking on the bottom and overhead set up. Are there any illustrations online??
the look nice but i bet they’re really aggravating to handle because it has to be done slowly and carefully. sort of takes the willingness to go into the other room, yes ? ah nah, i’ll just stay in this room, talk to you later
Na they slide really easy. I was just at my clients home a few months back for other work and these doors were installed 2 years ago. They still love them and had no complaints at all.
Just wondering what kind of guide do you use so the doors don’t bash against each other on the bottom? I see some sort of rolling guide on the bottom of the inner door.
Hi Ryan so I have one guide on the baseboard that is in the groove one the inner door. I have another u channel guide on the inner door that is in the groove on the outter door. I also build the outter door 1/4” shorter then the inner door so the guide dosent bottom out on outter door and rub on the floor.
Hi Kelly, so what I do is if the opening is let’s say 60 inches wide including the trim around the doorway I add 10 inches and divide by 2. So if it’s 60 + 10 \ 2 and each door would be 35 inches wide. I also mount the inner wheels 1 inch in from the door edge.
I also build the door in the front 1/4 inch shorter then the back door. I do this because for telescoping doors you need to have a guide connected to the back door that goes into a groove on the bottom of the front door. The 1/4”inch allows you to mount the guide flush to the bottom of the first door and not cause the bottom of the front door to bottom out.
Nice I like the spacing how it's closer to the wall than the normal ones I've seen. where is the best place to find the railings and sides you have... ? Overall good job!
The effect of this barn door DIY is amazing!
Thank you so much. Been doing this as a business for 6 years.

Awesome
Thank you 😊

What type of kit did you use for these??? They are absolutely beautiful !! You did an amazing job

You forgot the barn door floor guide

trust me i do this as a business and for this setup i don't want to see nay guides but they are there.
This is sweet where did you get it? Do they seal? Do they block out sound or heat?
God no.
There's Barn doors with a soft closing features on open and close. These don't have it. It'll be very frustrating to open them quickly
Unfortunately with that setup you cannot use softclose
Love this idea. Can ANY bypass barn door kit do this, or is this a special kit?

@@huskylover73 what did you do to modify them to work as telescoping
can you close them from the other room?
Yes you can
Did you buy the doors already made? Or did you have them made ?
I built the doors, that’s what I do o for my business.
Where u buy that hardware?
How are they sitting on the bottom? Any guide at bottom?
One door guide on the baseboard and another on the back door

Id love to diy these... where do you get the glass panels from? I'm assuming they are tempered?
Yes, tempered. It’s one big sheet of glass. Ordered it from One day glass.
Is there a lock system to keep unwanted visitarse out
Hi, where are the doors from please?
Hi, I custom built these doors for a client. You can view my work at Rfcrustics.com

why not just make a bigger door instead of 2 doors? i'd be opening these fast and i'm sure would break them eventually specially with glass

It’s actually very smooth. NOt sure how someone can say that without actually opening and closing it in person.
