I used to do everything from scratch, even synthesized my own kicks and percussion. Painful. But I also play guitar and bass. One day I realized using a guitar is like using a preset. • @philxdev

Love the philosophy here, music and art really is a journey of self discovery . I’ve gotten lost in the synth-make-my-own-waves and I agree it’s a distraction from the music, but also served me to better understand what different presets are and what nobs to tweak if I want to change them a bit.
Agree that having fun with it is the best no matter what, when it starts to feel like work then I’ve lost the whole reason why I started

Loved your music for a long time, saw you live at Dour festival a couple years ago in Belgium when I first heard you. Recently discovered these videos you are making and i really love them. I like to make music myself, have an octatrack and some other elektron hardware. I know it takes a lot of time and work to collect good samples. Sadly I'm lacking that time. I was wondering if by any chance you were willing to share something in the form of a sample library containing some or more of the samples like the ones you are using in these videos? Of course I would pay for it, in the form of Patreon sub or a one time purchase, anything really :)

I typically spend a few hours a week at least looking for samples for my own productions. Its definitely a part time job. I dont have the time to find them for others but places like Tracklib and Splice are great places to start. If youd like some unreleased music or full beatmaking session videos the Patreon is a great place for that but I dont think I'll be offering sample pools in the near future. Thanks for the interest

My involuntary piano song is the same one as yours lol. Or through the fire and flames by Dragonforce because I stubbornly taught myself the intro in high school and it's etched into my brain now. Dope video, glad to see you're still doing your thing! Been a fan for a few years now, you have a great ear for samples.

I've made music for 10+ years and have really struggled with your bit about going BACK. It really is harder. It's lead me to months without touching music from frustration
