Dan doesn't always do metal versions of songs, as this one proves. He has a number of acoustic songs on his channel to go along with the heavier stuff. He pretty much can sing any style. Rest assured though, he's a true Metal Head at heart.
I didn't think anyone could sing this better than Michael Crawford but boy was I wrong! Freaking outstanding!

I really liked your reaction this time! 😉I'm pleased you've had the opportunity to see how diverse Dan is. There are so many more that show the softer, more traditional style of vocals, where he adds a huge sprinkling of Dan but sticks far closer to the original. I absolutely love when he changes it up but also fully appreciate the magical interpretation he exudes with every performance.

I think those that aren't really into musicals in general know at least a couple of songs of Phantom of the Opera.

It is his deep unterstanding of music that makes every single performance so perfect. No matter what genre he picks - he knows exactly how to deliver the emotions and the meaning of the lyrics. It is not just listening to a great singer, it is feeling Dan Vasc. Sounds weird, but it's my only way to describe it. 😅

I’ve never seen a performance of this done better than Dan just sung it. Absolutely phenomenal. Mesmerizing. It’s like he becomes the character. I can see why Christine trusted/ went with the Phantom. Before seeing Dan do this I always thought “Christine! Give your head a shake! Why would you fall for that, girl?” Now I see why.
I love yalls reactions. Your British accents are awesome. Love it. Dan is do awesome! He seems so be able to sing ANYTHING very well! Thanks for your reactions.
Dan worked for years to train his voice to be able to perform as he has it now. In a video (not sure if it was a podcast or other) he says that it isn't "talent", but rather dedicated hard work that has given him the control over his voice that he now has. On his channel, you can find videos from 13 years ago when he was a scrawny wee lad of 20, and some of those songs he has gone back and re-performed and you can see the difference that his training has given him.
For breath control, many would recommend his cover of Manowar's Black Wind Fire and Steel. He carries a note for just over 30 seconds.
For other non-metal covers, such as this one, Nessun Dorma is a popular one that showcases his operatic abilities.
I am not sure if there are any limits to Dan Vasc's Musical capabilities. I have listened to about 2/3s of his videos and I haven't heard one that wasn't spot on. He really IS a phenom and a fantastic PHANTOM!! Great reactions guys. 💜🖤 Purplle heart for British Royalty and a Black heart seems to be fitting for The Phantom

You should encourage your watchers and subscribers to go to Dan’s channel and subscribe!! His goal (I’ve seen a video of him saying this) is to get 1M subscribers. And not to be arrogant or boastful about it but to hope his Dad sees he made a career in music! His Dad died before he decided to go full time as a musician (according to an interview I saw or read. I’m not making junk up). So let’s help him surpass 1M. I think he deserves many millions! The man is a phenomenal talent!! God has blessed him with this gift and Dan is sharing his gift with the world! And the world definitely an use this beauty!! God Bless Dan and God Bless all who hear this extraordinary man!!!❤

I'm enjoying your reaction. One thing I realized while watching, though, is that perhaps nobody has mentioned to you, that you do NOT need to do any screen overlays when you react to Dan's music. Period. NONE. He would actually prefer that people DON'T do that. There will never be a copyright problem with any of his music. There are no producers or publishers intertwined with anything he does, and he already has all the copyrights taken care of, for himself. Welcome to freedom! 😀

When people say someone can sing the phone book, THIS is what they mean. Dan can literally sing anything AND sing it perfectly! Not many singers can do what Dan can. I have heard this song performed by many real opera singers and I can honestly say that Dan is at least as good as the best of them (imo).
He not only gets the lyrics right but also the breathing and the body language for every emotional highlight of the song and he always has perfect pitch! A clear 10!

This is a 12. I can't believe you both rated it so low.
Only a few lines in and not anywhere near the emotional presence given by " Michael crawford " obviously a good voice but nowhere near the performance leval of Michael Crawford . Ps however to be fair to dan who no doubt is very talented with a great voice , it must be very difficult to convey the emotion of this song from a recording studio , feeding off a live audience would no doubt help greatly .

And this from someone ( me ) who has actually seen extremely brilliant, Tony Award winning, English, singer/actor Michael Crawford perform "The Music of the Night" - both in "The Phantom of the Opera" ( when he was with the L.A. production, ) and later when he toured with the concert series "The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber: In Concert." ( ? - or "... - In Concert." )

Michael was even better live and on tour with music of ALW he was absolutely tremendous .just had another listen . I may have been a little unfair to Dan should have mentioned how difficult it must have been for him to perform this song in a studio recording . feeding off a live audience would help greatly to convey the emotion of this song .

L.A. = Los Angeles, California, United States. Although when I saw "The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber in Concert" that was in Atlanta, Georgia, also United States. I have also seen "The Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway [ at the famed Majestic Theater, where it only just recently closed, after a record-breaking 35 year run ( and, when I saw it there, original "Raoul" Steve Barton was playing "The Phantom." ) ] I also have seen "The Phantom of the Opera" several times ( the National Touring Company version ) on stage in Atlanta.
No, actually Dan was good. It's just that nothing, and nobody, is better at playing "The Phantom," and singing "The Music of the Night" ( as well as other songs from "TPotO," ) than Michael Crawford.

At the time of phantom / Michael I was more interested in other popular music elton , Bowie, etc and being a keen amateur/ very amateur footballer all consumed my time . didn't see that many live gigs so regret that now . also as I aged I come to widen my music appreciation of all genre . some great concerts you've seen great memories for you . all the best regards Tom.
