Daddy Dutch BBQ Thanks Kent! I appreciate you Watching!
Quick, easy mod. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Michael E. - 4MZ BBQ and Grill Thanks for watching Michael!
Thanks Tom! Just completed this one. All good!
Thanks for Watching Bill!
Great idea! Thank you my friend did mine , definitely grilling tonight!
Thanks for Watching!
I used 1" chrome Shower curtain rod for the front leg replacement. Replaced the stock wheelers with 14" rear lawn mower wheels. So much easier on my old back.
Mac Mc Thanks for watching Mac!
Great Mod Tom. I'll be doing this one for sure
Thanks for watching!
great tip,thanx Tom..
Jim Scharba Thanks Jim! I appreciate you Watching!
Nice upgrade Tom. I had to go back and put a second screw in the coupling where the legs attach. Helped stabilize even more.
Phil N Florence Yup, works great to stabilize! Thanks for Watching Phil!
I had to do this as well. I used self tapping screws and washers. The emt tubing didn't fit snug at all into the three mounting holes under the bowl. No more wobble. Loving my kettle again!
Excellent mod! This is an issue for me on almost every bbq, Weber or not. Nice job B-)
Arizona RE Thank you! I appreciate you Watching!
Nice mod, like the "green goddess" you have. I did the same with an old 2006 model that had the friction leg fittings at the bowl. I had lots of weeble wobble and put some screws in that helped, but it still wobbles a lot. I may try taking them out and putting some kind of spacer in there - maybe a couple wraps of metal HVAC tape to make the conduit large enough and decrease wobble. Love your vids as always....
glctrains7 Thank you for watching! I appreciate it!
I have a 2 year old master touch kettle. I'm amazed by how easily the original hollow legs will bend, dent and wobble. This mod is great even for those of us who are average or below average height. The emt thru the original legs really stiffens everything up and I love having the extra height which makes cleaning the ash can a lot easier. Thanks for the video Tom :)
Awesome! I'm glad it helped! Thanks for Watching!
Great mod Tom... Love my Master Touch but hate how short they are and the wobbling legs. For that reason I am going to the performers. Plus you get a table with them. Enjoy that shorts weather and have a great Christmas.
Britt's BackYard BBQ n Grilln Thanks Britt! Merry Christmas!
Nicely done, thank you sir, will give this a try...Can’t stand the weeble wobble! 👍👊🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
Good vid!

Have to thank you tremendously for your work with this modification. I did this on my 18" kettle which I'm trying to pimp out a bit. :-) Perfect size for my needs, but definitely too low. Sharing that with the smaller kettle, I went with a 4 inch lift and it worked great. (Sounds like I'm talking about off roaders! :-) ) It's now basically the same height as a master touch, but I couldn't get one of those in the 18 inch size. I tried the higher size but was really tight to the point the wheels didn't roll smooth, my thought due to the smaller geometry. HUGELY worth doing even on the 18, fwiw. . Your modification is outstanding, extremely cost effective and will save my back. I'm 6'2 and this is perfect for me.
Thanks for Watching! Glad it all worked well for you! Thanks for Watching and commenting!
You’re trying to sell your weber on the corner in exchange for some questionable activities???
(I kid! I kid)
But good to know that this works on the 18” as well.
I like that bottom basket. I put my charcoal chimney on it, or on a very windy day I put a bag of charcoal on it
Thanks for watching! Good idea!
Looks like I know what I'm doing with my Copper kettle in the spring. Baby giraffe legs no more, lol! Never understood why they are so low? I just figured the creator was very short and never looked into it. Cheers!
Beer Champ BBQ Lol! Thanks for Watching!
Thats pretty cool im just gong to set mine up on some cylinder blocks hahaha
Thanks for watching!
Could only find one 5’ section of conduit online for a decent price. I guess I’ll have to subtract an inch from your specs. Still will be better than it is now.
Thanks for watching Adam!
Can you ( "I" ) just use maybe 3/4 covered by 1" emt the way you used original weber legs, without the lower tray/wheel assembly? Reason I ask, Weber sent me replacement 26"er to replace bowl and cover that had rust spot (Great company that stands behind their products!). Would love to make a Fraken -Weber 26" out of the extra parts. I'll still have to invest in a few things but if it works I can save a bundle. Thanks in advance for the help. Love your videos!!!
Thanks for Watching! Yes, I don't see why that wouldn't work
Not sure why Webber hasn't addressed this and just made the legs taller? Going to try to get this done before Memorial Day!
Thanks for Watching! Easy to do!
Wow Tom…what a cool upgrade! Do you think this would work properly if I add one more inch to each leg (cut 2 x 20” + 1 x 26”)? I’m 6’ and wanted to try to boost the height of my Weber Kettle 26” as much as possible. Or do the pieces need to be cut a different length for the Weber Original Kettle Premium 26-inch grill?
Thanks for Watching Jeff! I don’t see why it wouldn’t work
What size sheet metal screws??
#10 I know you said, but what length?
Doing the modifications to my Weber actually today
Thanks for Watching! Was long time ago and I just used what I had, 3/4” should work fine
Oh that poor kettle... BTW, the bottom shelf is far from useless. That's what holds the wobbly legs where they need to be.
Thanks for Watching Scott! It was an awesome upgrade!
Doesn't the angle change between the female fitting on the bottom of the kettle, and the new, longer leg? Or is there enough play in the fitting that this does not matter?
Good question! There’s enough play to make it work. Thanks for watching!
Did the paint on the inside of the lid burn/flake off for you? Mine did (it's only 3 years old) & I know how that it needs "high temperature" paint but all of the varieties that I've found say no exposure to direct flames or it can only sustain up to 600°F of prolonged exposure. What paint should I use?
Adam Huffman Thanks for watching Adam! There is no need to paint the inside of the lid it is porcelain enamel coated! The piece I referred to in the video is on the out side of the grill which I did paint
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thnx for the feedback. However mine isn't the "elite" colored version like yours, it's just the plain black model. Does that make a difference?
Adam Huffman Lol Adam! It does not, just an fyi, the colored versions are usually the same price as the standard black model.
It's not uncommon to see carbonized grease build up on the inside of a Weber Kettle dome lid that appears like peeling paint, but it's not paint. It should be cleaned/scraped off because it can fall onto your food.
I would like to do a mod like this on my wsm. I haven't found any videos on that yet. I hate how low it is.
Thanks for Watching! Interesting thought….
Hi great videos but do you know of anyone who has manged to make a mobile grill cart or table for it without losing the use of the hinge? that would be so cool
Thanks for Watching! I’m not sure what you mean by hinge, this grill has no hinge
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ sorry i was refering to the mastertouch premium with hinge
Ok, I haven’t seen any mobile carts

Does Stevie Wonder design the legs on these weber grills? Why should we have to spend almost $200 on a weber, just to bring it home and work on it? The one leg without the wheels is a total inch shorter than the other two. I just got it yesterday 6\2\21. c'mon china, you can do better.
Thanks for Watching Ron! I agree!
GOOD INFO...
