This was great info Fearless!! I have been using the glue compressor to beef up my 808, but not using the saturator as a soft clipper. Drum return is new I was using a drum bus, but find that it doesn't always work for everything especially when you add percs that have sharp highs. I will have to experiment with this method. Thank you!
How he makes drums without drum rack.Came from fl studio and I dont like drum rack in ableton.Does he just load simpler in one cell and then put kick for example into simpler and then it is like instrument?
@@user-xj7ms2hy7l yes just make a midi track and add a simpler or sampler. Add the drum sound to the simpler work with it that way. I wish Ableton would make the drum rack more flexible to allow it to act like a regular midi track so you can make adjustments to the midi notes like a normal track.

What’s the difference between just adding the effect to the track of the 808s vs adding a return track? Also that detuning trick def gonna come in clutch
OK, about sidechaining with an EQ - what if I dont have few hundred bucks lying around to buy Fabfilter? Can I somehow achiebe this with stock or free plugins?
The return track is acting as a second audio source sending to the master, whereas putting it directly on the 808 will 100% affect the signal unless you can change the dry/wet or you could even use an effect rack to add a dry signal. You should always try everything out and see what works best for you!
Ric flair woooo!!! lets go thanks.. Why didn't ur kick or 808 have the classic clipper used in the previous videos? If u were to use the classic clipper would u add it the return track ?
This is a great video man. Loved the gems u dropped and tbh I’ve been working on my 808’s so much I actually was already on track to figuring out the Bite trick but I was using Redux. Still a good alternative but I love Bite so I’m gonna use that now🤣🔥
Really good tutorial, u cover some shit some others don't. One of the reason i don't compress 808 is ppl always say the sounds already compressed. But i feel like if it sounds good, compress again lol
Definitely the best 808 tweaking video I've seen, you included every aspect and info needed, u definitely know your stuff.. thanks👍🏼
Thank you fam! I appreciate that

Try using the soft sine wave in the saturator and that may help with the highs your experiencing! That one seems to work best for me! Thanks!

The BITE plugin sauce and the Fab Filter sidechain super sauce, this man be CARRYING the community.
Glad to be able to share this info!
Thanks 😍
I didn't know about the sending tracks well done
You are a blessing bro. My homie showed me your video and this has saved my mixing so much thank u
Ayy happy to hear that! Shout out to your homie as well!

Yes, exactly. Just drag your sample into simpler
Thanks for making this content i have learned a bunch from your videos. especially the ones on your mastering.
My pleasure!
Enjoyed this one thanks for sharing
learned about sidechaining in PRO Q from this vid. looks like i have another plugin to buy hehe. nice vid. not all heroes wear capes. appreciate ya!
pro q is one of my favorite plugins for real!
Definitely new to me you’re a lifesaver!!!
I am happy to hear that!
man....just thanx to share this gem, you're awesome !!!
no problem! I am glad you found it useful!
I noticed your saturator drive was set to -4 is that something that should be done
no not necessarily
Thanks for all the tutorials, really helpful that you are doing this.
No problem! I am glad that these are helping out!

the return track is like a second track going to the master. basically a second layer with the effects
Great video man, commenting so the algorithm puts respect on your name
Thank you fam! Engagement and watch duration are the big two so I appreciate that!

Ayye thanks bro
No problem fam!
Can’t believe I never thought to put a compressor on my 808. Thanks Fearless for always coming in clutch! 🔥
Seriously, its a game changer!
Am just starting out man, videos are inspirational. Didn't know about beefing it out in return, will have to try this out! Cheers man
Good luck man and let us know how that goes for you!!
Hey fearless... Why put the saturation on a return track and send there instead of building it directly on the 808?

Another ableton god
Thanks for these tips! I haven't been using a tuner on my 808s
that step isnt the biggest deal, but it can help when the 808 is way off
Ric flair woooo!!! lets go thanks.. Why didn't ur kick or 808 have the classic clipper used in the previous videos? If u were to use the classic clipper would u add it the return track ?
you could fam
Because I am constantly evolving and getting better
Cuz, everyone know this!!!!
Thank you bro, I did big change when I watch this🔥🔥🔥🔥
where do i find that bite plugin?
Its a Native Instruments plugin
Man I don’t even use ableton but I had to sub out of respect 💪
Thank you fam! Looking forward to a collab in the future!
Go ahead infinitee
Fearless nice video but I thought you said you don’t tune your 808? What change?

Hell ya fam! Redux is cool, but Bite has so much more functionality and presets that are fire!
Can we get a video on turning two bar samples or four bar loops into full songs
yes I have lots of those
brooooo this is so important. fuck how did i not know this. ty

I dont think your 808's are already compressed and if they are, you might want to get new drum kits
Try turning down the base on the saturator 🔥
yessir! I have played with that but didnt notice a positive difference, but it could work in certain situations! Thanks for sharing!
Nice 👍🏼
Abelton gang ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
thanks gang!!
but I didn't see why you detuned it first
I mainly use Mpc software
So this can be done in ✅
Any DAW
Yup you can do this on any platform
thank you man a lot...but if you can make a video about putterns to make the beats more intersting... i subscriped to your channel
I have videos on 808 patterns
