A longplay for japanese version of Rockman X5 (known as Mega Man X5) is the fifth game in the Mega Man X series and the second X game on the PlayStation console. It's also the only game to have a time limit on the stage select. The FMV sequences, seen in Mega Man X3 and Mega Man X4 (with the exception of the game's opening), have been replaced with still screens and text.
The player can choose X or Zero in the title screen, but they can still choose between the two characters later inside the game (a staple of the series starting with this game). The only difference is that if the player chose X, he will be able to use the Fourth Armor, and with Zero, he will be able to use the Z-Buster. -

That was what I always heard in the japanese version. In any case, Mega X 5 rocked in any side of the world. It was my favorite game in the PSX.

This was said to be the grand finale of X. And Zero 1 takes place after X5. This is the last canonical game of X's series. Sigma dies for good here. And I mean, for good. This is Sigma's final, permanent death, canon-wise. X6, X7, and X8 don't count because they're not canon. This is canonically Sigma's last appearance and his final, permanent death happens in X5.

@@benreilly5951 What are you talking about? The older Megaman games are a lot easier then the new ones. I grew up with the classic series all the way to Legends.
To those who may not like the song used in the intro fmv it makes sense and fits given what Sigma tried to do to Zero.

X5 is pretty good. It was the last that mr.inafune was involved in. Although in a minor role. After this he put attention towards the awesome zero series. I still love 6 & 8 over 7 anyday. Unfortunately my only way to play this is on my copy of the x collection for PS2. I’ll be buying the legacy collection soon

man X5 is so far my favorite Megaman X, the music of this game is out of this world i love it an we got x vs zero ost my favorite (i know the first is in x2)
I think x5 is my favorite, it’s got a race against time feel to it and having the “normal” status underneath feels like playing resident evil
This game could be good but they fumbled it hard. Like, what's the deal with "Hey you can pick either X or Zero before each missions! Switch on the fly". But that's a COMPLETE lie isn't it? because if you pick Zero first, they ERASE FROM THE GAME an essential armour for X, making him USELESS. So what is this.
BS? Wow I can play as X with NO armour? Whoopy-dee doo the game might as well just say GAME-OVER when you press start. No this is a either X only or Zero only game and I don't understand why they tried to shoe-horn in both while doing such a miserable job of it. Also the canon/space-ship % thing that determines the ending...ugh I don't even wanna go into that mess. This game is like an intern was carrying a giant stack of papers with the docs ready to go, then poor guy tripped then in top of that someone dropped an ice-cream cone on the pages and then some of the pages fell into a drain ditch

Good thing it has minor regional differences unlike Sonic CD
One of the rare cases where the U.S. intro takes the cake (even though it's just the main menu theme). The Japanese one would be great for any other game in the series, but it kinda destroys the darker tone in this one.

By the way, I remembered something in X6,
Which is Zero being repaired and after defeating the Zero Nightmare, the real Zero reveals himself to X, which made me wondering: if Zero is repaired, then why didn't he just show himself earlier ?

Fun game but the Gaea Armor is BIG trash
Gear Cyborg Armor is a piece of crap , but unfortunatelly its necesary to get all complete armor 100 %
It's good that Capcom went mostly with actual names instead of imaginary and weird-sounding names

For me X4 is the easiest.

The title isn't X4 or X5. In your case, it's Mega Man X4 and Rockman X5. Not sure why you have trouble with that. Laziness or ignorance. And since the Rockman games are created and developed over in Japan, theirs is called the original version. Capcom USA doesn't make the games.
