Wow, so many memories! This was one of the first video games I ever played. Came out in 1996 the year I was born. I love that I can now watch the whole thing from start to end. I never was able to actually finish the whole game so thank you for this play-through!

People can criticize Mega Man 8 all they want... but it's easily on my top 5 list of Mega Man games. The Sega Saturn edition having its own exclusive content that the PS1 edition didn't have also makes this game extra special
played the game on its release and I still love it to this day. When I got it for ps3, my little brother came home from work and discovered I had it. He sat and played it through the entire weekend.

From what I heard it was a situation where the voice actors had no context of their lines whatsoever. Capcom was apparently notorious for this (and still is).The same issue happened with Mega Man X4 also. That one has some very goofy voice acting too. Dr. Light still takes the cake though LMAO!
god, isn't it weird to think that with all of this tech and this enlightened civilization in the Megaman series that A)they still don't have any behavior treatments for like speech impediments B) Reading Asimov isn't mandatory in high school & C) That nobody has thought to design sex robots yet?
I love it too (my first ever Mega Man game that I played) but believe it or not this game got absolutely SLATED in the reviews by the games magazines of the time! But then again those same magazines also dumped all over the port of the excellent Mega Man X3 as well so that gives you some indication of their credibility.
The first Mega Man game I ever owned, yes this version. It was good for what it was, another great platformer for my collection before I became a collector.
Megaman really sounds like he's 8 in this game. I always pictured his voice to be more like between 15 and 20 years old. But I like each one of your videos better than the previous, you make look so easy games that are not and you really know them. Delightful show.

Found a copy of this (the original Anniversary Collector's Edition version) at a thrift store over a year ago, and I've been a Mega Man/Rockman fan since.
Out of all the megamans this is my favorite minus the voice acting for mega. They really should have given him a more masculine voice. I still love this game!
I do. Both this and 7 just don't feel right. It's like the rapid-quick precision of the 8 bit Mega Man games is gone. Once again, the art is fucking fantastic and vibrant. That's about it in terms of good things to say about this game though. Didn't care for whole Anime feel about this game.
I still think this is the last best Mega Man game to date, with its cartoony graphics, techno soundtrack, and comfy gameplay. Sure the 8-bit games were great too, but after like more than 6 of those it did start to get old, especially when theyre constantly rererererereleased and that Legacy collection didnt really help. & Bass comes to a close second for me too.

My favorite game of the classic series and by far the most underrated one. If you look past the unavoidably horrible cutscenes, the rest of the game is a masterpiece. Even the in game voice acting is pretty sweet
Makes me wonder how it would go if Capcom did consider redubbing the game and getting Ben Diskin, Erica Lindbeck, Doug Stone, Jon Bailey, Chris Hackney, and Keith Silverstein as Mega Man, Roll, Dr. Light, Rush, Auto, and Dr. Wily respectively. Do wonder who would do Bass, Duo, Proto Man, and the Robot Masters... maybe Bass could be voiced by Crispin Freeman, and Proto Man could be voiced by Ray Chase
Whoever is playing in this playthrough is a freakin' God. I just watched stage 2 getting cleared and the whole time I've been thinking that this game was insanely hard - borderline impossible - when I was a kid. I'd struggle with the first boss with no understanding of the mechanism to beat it. There were a few times through random luck that I'd beat like 3-4 stages in one go, but I never felt like I was good enough to beat the game and would inevitably get stuck at some point. Not finishing it has haunted me since the PS1 was out. There's a Humble Bundle right now (ends in like an hour) with a bunch of the Mega Man collections and I'm tempted to pick it up just for this game. I can't even believe that the completion time for this video has someone beating it in 2 hours. That's just... Man, wow. I don't even know. I've gotta prove to myself that I can finish it.

It's funny how each of the Robot Masters of Mega Man 8 that Dr. Wily designed and built or stole then modified have such distinctions in their personalities. Grenade Man is like a masochistic take on Bomb Man with the fact he ENJOYS getting hurt besides blowing stuff up, Frost Man is a dimwit who likes shaved ice/popsicles but also is one of the biggest Robot Masters Wily made, Clown Man is a goofball fitting his aesthetics, Tengu Man is an egotistical warrior which is his biggest weakness, Sword Man is very honorable and unique in how his body levitates separately of his legs due to the weight of his sword, Search Man has two different heads but alternates his singular personality between both and can confuse himself, Aqua Man is campy and a bit of a crybaby, and Astro Man is easily panicked.
Thnx so much. I’m glad they re-buffed mega man since MM7. It made Wiley’s capsule form(which is the same from MM7) much easier to dodge like Tom Cruise. I like the new RMs like tengu man 👺 32 but Saturn game looks slick. The first of MML2 I actually beat, I’m thrilled & relieved

The Sega Saturn port for MegaMan 8 only costed like 5 bucks, which is far cheaper than 2023 AAA games alone that costed 75 bucks each.

I think the best part of this game was listening to the voice actor for Dr Light trying to get through one sentence without stumbling over his lines.

The Clown Man stage BGM is the best music out of all of them I heard, IMO. Great PS1 game hands down.

I think the controls are much looser and Mega Man doesn't feel...as solid or dense as he did in the 8-Bit era.
