A note for Unraid users -- if FileBrowser is installed exactly as shown, you won't have permissions to modify any folders created with FileBrowser from outside of FileBrowser. This is problematic when accessing a share via SMB that's set up to be your FileBrowser directory, which is a pretty common use-case. To fix this, edit the FileBrowser docker template to include the user flag as an extra parameter (accessible with Advanced View toggled on). This will let you specify a non-root user and group for FileBrowser which plays nice with your SMB shares or other access methods. I use --user=1000:100 to resolve permissions issues. Great vid as always, Sycotix! FB is an awesome lightweight solution for those of us that don't need/want a full-fat Nextcloud instance.

Thanks guys. I installed Next Cloud a few days ago thinking that would be good for a Google Drive replacement, but then I came across your video for File Browser. So far, I'm liking it much better, much less resource intensive seeing I don't really think I'll use the other features of Next Cloud. Thanks for another awesome video. Good to see another Aussie channel doing well.
Well if you want the whole suite of tools from Nextcloud that's perfectly fine. But it is heavy and takes a lot more to keep going than this simple method to manage and access files.
Not necessarily difficult at all mate. Just up to you if you want all the other features then go for Nextcloud. But for simple file management we think File Browser does the job perfectly
I get a 413 error when uploading file size more than 100MB over internet. I’m using cloud flare tunneling for my server. Seems to be cloudflare upload limit. And way to upload file larger than 100MB to chuck upload it?
Hey. You could try changing the settings to lower than 100MB in chunks size. BTW, I can't upload anything via remotely. I have exact same the setup as yours. CLoudflare tunnel. I get 415 error everytime I try to upload anything. It works fine if I'm accessing through locally. Any help?
Love your unraid videos, the others are very informative and opens you up to new horizons, gives you the urge to experiment, Great work. Any possibility you guys would be doing something on changing geographic locations on a VPN (or VLAN with VPN) seems not to be very much out there

Nextcloud is a whole complete suite of tools. It has calendar and group features built-in; it has officially-supported plugins for task lists and editing Office documents; and as a shutterbug I love that the Nextcloud app will auto-upload my photos and video once I use my camera's app to pull them from the camera to my phone.
Plain and simple - if you just want easy file access, editing and sharing I would go filebrowser. If you do want the whole suite of tools (and the load of Nextcloud) then definitely go Nextcloud route
You mention configuring this with traefik/authelia in the guide. If you're providing links to various third parties, won't that also require you to setup authelia accounts for those users as well, or is there something I'm missing?
You're right James, thanks for clarifying. You will need to have an account for them to use if protected by any auth layer on top of the web auth form.
I wish this worked with Unraid>FileBrowser>NGinxProxyManager Can't get it to work. I miss IBRACORP being focused on Unraid as well. No big deal. I still watch your stuff and enjoy it.
Ya.. me too... I'm an Unraid purist... these other options are likely nice for some folks... but I come here for the Unraid content personally. Even if it was a 'royal-sampler' approach... that would be fine if they would continue to support the Unraid install/setup etc as it was a year ago.

How do you make share links without using reverse proxy? And would it be insecure to just port forward?

How do I add my hard drive? It only detects my SSD which is my main boot drive

When using Filebrowser on Unraid I always gets a “500 internal error” when transferring from mnt/disk-x to mnt/disk-y when using share = /mnt/ - 😭
