I thought about that, but I don’t really want to be able to straight see in on the sump area. After a while the sump gets a bit dirty and nasty, plus salt creep. I wanted to just barely be able to see in there if I wanted.
I didn't see the actual application but if you wet the glass while doing tint the tint will slide easily as well as you would be able to squeegee the bubbles out also trim tint after applied and little clear nail polish on edges to hold it down just giving couple tips
@@SaltFishTV yea, that's how I thought you were going to do it. You just spritz some water down and then you could even use a credit card if you wanted haha. Probably said to do that in the directions🤣🤣
@@SaltFishTV I acknowledge you probably won't do it, but a heat gun could loosen the tint and silicone to give you the opportunity to do it again. Not sure how long this temp fix will need fo last
@@gabesreef That’s correct. But, if I do it again, it’ll be close to the cost of getting a brand new door assembly. This will only be short term temporary
Oh ok cool yeah I'm thinking of canceling my waterbox order because algae barn has the 1200s in stock. Do you like the it what are the things you don't like about it?
@@chrissnyder8625 So far I love it. It was a bit of a hassle getting it up and running, but now it’s going pretty well. I will be making a video here shortly on the likes and dislikes about it. Thank you for watching and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Also, are you in the CADE Facebook group? It’s a great place to get information straight from owners and AlgaeBarn.
I will be joining Cade Fb group thanks for the info. I also sub to your You Tube account. Did you get your tank through the mail or did you pick it up at your lps?
@@chrissnyder8625 Thank you very much! I had it delivered straight to my front door. I also have a video on that one if you care to watch. AlgaeBarn took care of the whole shipping process.
Congratulations you discover life is a do-it-yourself project. 👍🏼🐟🐠
Cool idea
Gabes Reef Tampa helped me with the decision! Great ideas
Too be honest I think it looks dope without the tint. If you have guest over they can see what goes on down there

Good thing we will be focusing on the tank and not the stand😉😎
Hopefully 🤦🏻♂️ Just a current eye sore! Lol
Nice DIY I wish I was that crafty.
It doesn’t always work out lol. Last one I cut my thumb open and had to get stitches 😂
@@SaltFishTV ouch!
Door looks ok. Could be worse. Definitely better than having nothing. And for a first try it works
Thanks man. I appreciate those words of encouragement.

@@carminecarlone2869 lol 😂 I did spray a little but don’t think was enough and the card I used scratched it 😬
@@SaltFishTV oh 😬
I was laughing with you...🤣. The struggles were real...I think it turned out good enough for now.
LOL screw tint!
It was almost a great idea. Can't imagine how you came up with it 🤣🤐

What happened to the original glass?
Definitely should have installed the glass the other way.
I broke it 🤦🏻♂️ I absolutely agree with you on that lol
