- We went to Wales & crossed the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. It was an amazing experience but kind of scary! We struggled with the pronunciation though! Here's what we found.

We've cycled with our children from Chirk to Llangollen and back, via Trevor and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, while staying at the Chirk Caravan and Motorhome Club site, Lady Margaret's Park. We can thoroughly recommend this to young and young at heart alike. As you've proved on the video, walking across the aqueduct takes a bit of courage and pushing a bike over it, even more so, but apart from that, it's a lovely journey along the tow path with a couple of nice pubs en route. Glad you enjoyed it.

Lovely memories! When my boys were young, we had a 62' narrow boat based in Cheshire. We went over the aqueduct many times. It's even more spectacular when you travel across by boat as it's a sheer drop on the other side. This is a beautiful canal. Happy days 😍👍

Brought back some lovely memories for us as we have travelled on the aqueduct on a narrow boat. You get a much better perspective of heights from a boat as you can literally step off of the boat as there is no rail. I wanted to hang over the edge to video but nobody would hold on to my legs ..... spoil sports!! We did film it if you want to go and look at it on our TH-cam channel. Hi Lin & Rich, I have similar memories of a trip over on our family narrow boat back in the 70's. There were 3 generations of us on holiday and while me and my sister sat on the boat roof (kids with no fear), I remember that my Nan locked herself inside the boat, closed all the curtains and refused to come out until we were across the other side.

my husband, 2 westies and myself walked over the aquaduct last summer both dogs and I were fine but my husband John said his feet went very itchy and moaned about them all the way across and back over, he said he was ok it was just his feetthat didn't want to walk across. Happy holidays xx

Steam Train from Llangollen to Coreen is also great in that area, many weekends in the caravan out that way for us.
