  • Induction heating explained through 3D animation. And the role of eddy current loss and hysteresis loss in the heating process.
    INDUCTION HEATING:
Induction heating is a non-contact heating process, where an alternating magnetic field induces eddy currents in the metal.Which in turn generate heat due to the metals resistance to the eddy currents.
This type of heating suits better for metals which have high resistance.
In addition to that ferromagnetic materials are quickly heated because of the hysteresis loss, which happens due to the magnetization and demagnetization.
This video explains all of these through 3D animations.

Best explanation. Back in the 90s EE class no video animation so we tend to forget what we read. Thanks.

I went through 3 videos trying to find how and why induction works. This is very straight forward and explains everything I was curious about. Thank you :)

Its a very good explanation. Thank you.
So as per the video the heat in the Cooking pan is not transferred heat from any other coil , its a direct heat generated because of the eddy current produced inside the Cooking Pan.
    My Question is :
Than why it doesn't harm us when we touch ( Human body) the cooking Pan on the induction stove when it is having current inside it (eddy current) while cooking ?
Im not challenging anyone, its just my genuine doubt, hope to find the answer

How do induction hardened component/part remains demagnetize?
During induction hardening magnetic lines and due to reversing it Eddy current will flow overall the component, right? Then how particular area is getting hardened?
