I do the same thing with steel cut oats. I usually do 5-6 cups of water to 2 cups of steel cut oats for 4 mins. I add cinnamon and apples and it's so yummy! I sweeten it and freeze the left overs in individual containers so I can take it to work for breakfast. Delicious!
White Collar Mom Great idea! 😃 I accidentally bought steel cut oats instead of rolled oats and didn’t care for the taste or extra cooking time. I’ll try the IP with your ideas, thank you for sharing! 🤗
Beginner Instant Pot-ter here. 😁. Made your pumpkin oatmeal for myself and my mom Christmas morning and it was great! We added a few raisins to ours in place of chocolate chips and also drizzled a very small amount of maple syrup. Great change of pace for breakfast. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Yummy! I just bought my Instant Pot, so I'm still learning about all the things I can do with it. This recipe was very easy! I added raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and walnuts!
Shirelle - short ribs. Buy some short ribs (I like mine cut about six inches long). Season with a good BBQ rub. Throw a little over a cup of water in the pot. Throw the trivet in. Add the ribs and cook for 90 minutes at pressure. Let release slowly for 15 minutes and tell me those are not the best "braised" short ribs you have ever had with zero effort. You could make a solid gravy if you wanted, but the girls just drink it like bone broth after I strain the fat off. *shrug* The girls demand this at least every other week.
I cook with water, prep it night before and cook morning of. When it's done I add a splash of heavy cream to each bowl for the girls. They eat it up! Creamy with a touch of sweetness. No complaints from picky eaters so far.
I make individual servings of oatmeal in Mason jars. Add 1/4 cup oats, 1/2 cup liquid (water or milk), chopped up fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries. apples, peaches, bananas etc), and some cinnamon or preferred spices into each jar. Each person can customize their own favorite flavors and ingredients. Put 1 cup water in instant pot and place jars on the trivet. I lay the canning jar lid on each jar to keep out any dripping water. Manual for 4 minutes and its done! Serve in jar.
I make your IP oatmeal at least once a week and now the kids are asking for it more often. I have two stackable pans ready to go tonight and I just have to get up and hit one button. I LOVE IT. Thanks for this! When I'm single-dadding it, this stuff is a life saver. The girls appreciate it too.
I also like to add some chopped dried apples before cooking and then cinnamon, raisins and chopped pecans or walnuts after cooking. The apples just melt into the oatmeal and are so yummy!
@@UsherCoolboySWFilms look for "pressure level" button and press to desired setting, you'll see it switch between high and low on screen. My button is near "keep warm" button.

Kristen thank you so much for sharing your cool recipies with us. Also for offering Karen Ps site - I have used her neat recipies but did not know she was the author of that particular site. Good luck with your new house!
The pumpkin oatmeal is wonderful! I used apple pie spice instead of nutmeg and cinnamon because both are in there. But I topped it with whipping cream and it really tasted like a pumpkin pie. Will fix again.
Almost every morning I make this recipe however I use pot-in-pot cuz it cuts the clean up time. Also I like to add a shy teaspoon of vanilla powder before cooking. A enjoy your channel, thanks.
I find oatmeal such a comfort food, & I can eat it all year round! putting it with the pumpkin purée sounds yummy, must try! Tfs sending blessings for the new home🏠💕
I have several Instant Pots because I want to use them on my sailboat for crusing. Because I have limited electricity(solar cells), I have been pushing my instant pot to see how little electricity I can use. I use the three quart pots which use 700 watts intermittantly, as apposed to the 6 qt which uses 1000+. I saw a video on 0 pressure minute cooking and tried it out on my oatmeal. Great oatmeal, no more time needed. I also often throw a coupe of eggs in on top of my Chiboz mini pots which go inside of the main pot. So its a cup of water in the bottom, the trivet, a Chiboz pot with the oatmeal, raisins and water, the lid, then I throw a couple of eggs on top (they come out perfectly hard boiled), recently I added a couple of small red potatos (about the same size as the eggs and amazing, they are edible), then I set the pot for 0 pressure minutes, and let it cycle through the heat up and cool down times. Everything is cooked just fine.
Looks good! Two questions: Do you think you could use milk instead of water? And could you add all the goodies right into the pot with the oats before cooking?
Lisa E I would honestly just add a splash of milk after it cooked since it thickens as it cools! It might work with like half water and half milk though?
I learned a lot from your channel Thanks and keep the videos coming. I want to can meats and vegatables with my Pot is there a cook book that has instructions. Thanks and I'll keep watching

I found your channel, because I was trying to find ideas for how to keep from getting the burn error. I used to be able to make oatmeal with lots of ingredients in my instant pot such as raw apples, dates, nuts, raisins etc. But this past year every single time I try to use my instant pot on the pressure setting I get the burn notice. The recipe says 3 1/2 cups of water and 2 cups of oats (worked for the first couple years) but it no longer works. Today I used 4 cups of water & 2 cups of oats with chopped nuts, dates, salt & cinnamon. It came up to pressure but kept getting the burn error so I did a quick release (which the instant pot instruction book says not to do with oats) but the oats were ready. They were a little stuck inside the bottom of the pan, but they tasted fine.

Hello!! I just got my instant pot duo for Christmas. I love oatmeal, so it's the first thing I did. I thought, how hard can it be? Instead of 1 cup , I did a cup and a half.
