A great video and like the style. Is the Ktm now yesterday's bike with the new Tenere finally here? And would a new cb500x do it all for half the money?
    Happy travels.
Btw if I'm short on bungee points I just wrap a few thick cable ties through the frame. Usually works.

Great video, would love to see this style of video for other bikes. Nice to see some real world testing and not just riding 50miles round Italian mountains like most reviews.

Who the heck is your audio guy? Bg sound too loud and vocal audio is appalling.

With regards to the C ABS, MTC and other alarms showing up, I had the same on my 1290 SA including having them clear if I turned it off only to have them come back intermittently once riding again. I was on a fairly long journey (80 miles into a 400 miler) so stopped and rang the dealer. They said it was OK to continue the ride but to take it to them as soon as I could. The following day I turned up and they whisked it into the workshop - 10 minutes later it was back out, the issue was down to one of the battery terminals being very slightly loose. Not had a problem since and this was 2 years ago.

That was quite a good discussion. Makes one think about the bike a bit more than your average review. I'm waiting for the SMT version, but with KTM I think it sometimes is good not to be an early adopter as they often seem to have some problems when new.

We used the TomTom Rider 550, and TomTom's linked MyDrive web app. John

8 quid for an app that means i do not have to pack my bulky garmin zumo 595 90% of the time, are you crazy!!!! You tight fisted buggers, the cost of 2 pints of beer and you have a brilliant app that provides turn by turn directions, you can even download maps to use off line!!! You are bloody nuts. The ktm my ride app is a little gem.

Great discussion and much better than the normal 2 hour test. The part about the suspension was interesting. My experience is that tuning the suspension to the rider's weight and riding style is the best performance mod you can do to a bike. People who have enough money to buy the bike, should be able to afford it.
Will also be interesting to see the comparisons to the new Yamaha 700, which will probably be it closest competitor.

Thanks chaps! I have an 1190 and can't decide between downgrading to this as i spend most of my time commuting in a city, or going full hog for the 1290S.

I would suggest you to try one out. I've ridden a 1090 for a week and going back to my 790 adventure felt easier not only because it sits lower to the ground but also because the weight of the bike sits low.

So, you guys review an adventure bike for over an hour, and none of you guys went off-road?

Bennetts Bike , I watched the first 40 minutes or so where the only mention of anything off-road is how one guy rode it in Morocco, but he didn’t talk about that experience. So, did I give up too soon?

Bennetts Bike , I stand corrected. In a video review that is one hour and one minute long, you spend the last 4 minutes having someone else discuss this adventure bike on the dirt. And this is entitled, (7 “Adventures” in 7 days) in which the reviewers rode strictly on the pavement.....
