only 2steps to fix this, 1.Enable High performance mode in your power plan(If this mode is missing in your power plan you just Copy this command powercfg -duplicatescheme 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c and type CMD in search bar then click Run as Administrator then paste in CMD then click Enter, now your power plan will enable). 2.Now the Switchable Dynamic graphics enabled in your High perrformance mode, so go control panel-power plan-High performance mode-Change power settings-Advanced power settings-Scroll down to see the Switchable dynamic graphics-Global Settings-((On battery-Maximize performance)/(Plugged in-Maximize performance)) Finally your Dedicated graphics runs as Primary in your GPU. I hope your problem will fix after do this

ok here's what im going to tell u why it looks different from what u see here. from the device manager when opening the display adapters you need to update the amd driver first. then after updating it, install the catalyst control center again. it will ask u to reboot the system so u know.

I thought so. Mine does the same. I don’t even have AMD catalyst installed. My laptop model number is Dell Latitude E6540 and its GPU is the AMD Radeon HD 8790M, with 16GB RAM, and an Intel Core i7 4810MQ. I played GTA V and put it in windowed mode and it showed that about 50% or more of the AMD GPU was being utilized while GTA V was running so I think you’re right. It just switches automatically depending on how much power it needs for certain programs/applications.

Hi! I've installed the latest AMD Catalyst Control Center and driver for my AMD 7670M but the software doesn't allow to change manually the GPU like you did. Do you know how to solve the problem?
It’s weird because even without catalyst installed my AMD GPU automatically kicks in when I’m running more intense games. It runs alongside the integrated intel HD graphics. I think? Not entirely sure if that’s how it works but whenever I’m in a game and I put the game in windowed mode and open task manager it shows that the AMD GPU is being used. I haven’t seen it get up to 100% GPU usage on the AMD GPU but it still uses a good portion of it. It utilizes probably more than half of the AMD GPU as far as I’ve seen.
