Fun fact: When trying to decide on a character for their game, the designers tried out over 150 designs. Some of their ideas included a kappa (a Japanese frog/turtle/man) with a top hat and characters with a plate or a fork for a head.

I don’t think a lot of people realize the dlc is going to be late because they have to draw all the bosses, the new characters, the weapons, backgrounds, and animations.
The actual game was supposed to release earlier and it got VERY delayed, so now it's happening with the dlc

Ooon a side note though, I'm surprised you didn't talk about the soundtrack of this game! I mean, just *LISTEN TO IT!!* Every track fits the theme of the level and even if you don't like some, there has to be at least One track for each person's different tastes.

I just played the game too, and I fell in love with it. One thing I think people over exaggerate how hard the game is. It’s all about persistence. If you get the patterns down, it becomes pretty easy, but that isn’t to undermine the game, as half the fun is just figuring out how to take on the bosses as fast as you can.

Don't forget the devs being absolutely wholesome guys by adding in some stuff in later patches (like extra phases in certain fights, which was a scrapped idea but managed to get in alongside the Nintendo Switch release).

They’re making a dlc, a whole new game pretty much with new bosses and new story. And new character the ghost chalice in the mausoleums. But it probably won’t come out until 2098

Not only is traditional animation time consuming, but also very expensive as it requires a lot of work. These guys had to mortgage their houses for the animation.
