Thank you for taking us in this journey with you. Have a safe and Happy New year and thank you for sharing your love with books with us another year. I can wait to see what you will create next year.
I have a really funny story actually about the author of Cinder, Marissa Meyer. I'm a pretty big Sailor Moon fan so one day I was just reading Sailor Moon fanfiction and in the notes of the fic The author said, "BIG NEWS! I'm going to be published! My debut novel, CINDER, is scheduled for release in Spring 2012 under my real name, Marissa Meyer. Please see my profile for more details!" So I went to go check and see if this was really her and it was ( it said so on her website). How funny is that? Before she made it big, she wrote Sailor Moon fanfiction!
If anyone is interested in reading the fanfiction you wrote you can find her fanfiction on fanfiction.net under the name Alicia Blade and the fanfic she wrote was called "to the gentleman in the back"
If you enjoyed A Darker Shade of Magic so much, I think you will like A Thousand Pieces of You as well. It's about dimension travel as well and right now it's one of my favorite series.

I guess mine would be Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson, I'll Give You The Sun and The Sky Is Everywhere both by Jandy Nelson, Fangirl, and Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda :D So many more I could add, but I think these will be my top five. LOVED your video! I really need to read the Lunar Chronicles and Throne of Glass.. I'll get to them eventually! lol
I didn't think I would enjoy Cinder either, but I placed it on hold over Overdrive and when it came in I decided to give it a try and ended up loving it!! I haven't read any of Rainbow Rowell's books yet, but I just bought Landline and Eleanor and Park 😊
Jesse what were your thoughts on Heir of Fire vs Queen of Shadows? I loved Crown of Midnight, but Heir of Fire was a little disappointing for me personally so I'm avoiding Queen of Shadows. I love Maas's world building and I don't want to give up on the series. Help!

It comes with a very anarchist view on life and I found it very fascinating. Depending on the type of book you usually read, it might be a bit slow to start (by slow, I mean chapter two. God, chapter two. Why was chapter two so difficult to get through??). It picks up speed though by chapter six-ish :)

jesse, who do u like better: male authors or female authors?
also do you like female protagonists or male protagonists better?
I am not Jesse but I don't think the author's gender really matter at all
But most if not all the books I have read and loved were written by women.
I think I tend to lean more towards female protagonists cause I don't really know why.
My top 5 of 2015 are:
1. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown
2. PJO: The Titan's Curse
3. The Fault in Our Stars
4. Crown of Midnight
5. Fangirl
I marathoned the Throne of Glass series as well. Absolutely love it! And The Marvels is beautiful too!
I'm finally reading the second Mistborn book after delaying it for 3 years in worry that I wouldn't love it as much as the first book and so far (75% in) I am enjoying it! xD
Is it important to read the Grisha Trilogy before reading Six of Crows, or can I just jump in?
+McKenzie R Nope! You can just jump in to Six of Crows. It just references a few of the characters.
You can read it without reading the grisha trilogy
+jessethereader Awesome. Thanks!
I read Cinder years ago and I didn't know that there were several books. Now that I do know there's several books I'm going to reread cinder and the whole series
I saw the sudden blank space on your bookshelf and was like whoa. Then you held up the Throne of Glass series. That is were those books went. I'm going to read that series this year.
I'm so excited for Tales Of The Peculiar. After reading Library of Souls i laid around my room all day not wanting to do anything
does one need to have read the original grisha trilogy to read six of crows??
My top 5 (in no particular order);
- I am the messenger
- Rat Queens v1+2
-Wonder
-Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe
-Heir of fire
Book lifting should really be it's own competitive sport hahaha. Also, I finally remembered to grab my copy of the 2nd Peculiars book on this trip home, so now I can at last continue that story.
I read 149 books this year.
1. Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy.
2. Neverseen by Shannon Messenger
3. Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer
