In the beginning where it all started was guys coming home from the war, and had no money, but wanted a vehicle to drive, so they scrounge the auction, junk yard and people's friends and family's business backyard for what ever they might find to make a vehicle, remember these guys where air plane pilots, engineers, mechanics ect and these are our great grandfather so to them they where hot rod, and some where along the way late 60 early 70, some one came up with that they had to be shiny chrome and pretty, and go broke doing it ,personally I come from a son of a ww11 veteran and a brother who in the most part devoted our lives to the automobile I have built several 2nd series chevy truck and drive one till this day crushed cars for 20 plus years and seen a lot of what would make a grown man cry , i.love the rusty as found traditional rod look and build it with what ever you have expect brakes and the ones I built are simple but get more attention than the yuppie built from a box look rat rods rule and our the foundation of the car culture as we know it today, proud to still at 63 alive doing what I can to help keep it alive THANKS

In the beginning, all hot rods displayed originality.....now, not so much. Rat rods are where the originality is seen now......and I love it !!!
