Great retrievals. My wife and I fish on our days off of work. She tends to retrieve straight without working it. She watched this video and said to me "oh, I get it now". Thanks!
I never what have thought of using a cork with a rattle trap. Genius! Now I can fish a certain level of the water column consistently. I always like to use the blue and silver one in the marsh. I always have a ton of good catches with that one.
The correct way to fish a trap under a cork is a slip cork backwards and just reel it in. Purpose for that style is to keep it out the grass and shell.
@@MarshManMasson wat do u expect bud, he had a great example to follow growing up ! Love following u two In ur entertaining and sometimes educational videos ! Thanks Todd and Joel
I saw those guys using this trap and popping corks setup in a redfish tournament recently... was pretty interesting, I'm used to chucking and winding it for bass... good video! 🤙
I wonder how many times Joel gets asked about being on TH-cam while working at academy. See him quite often in there. Great video and awesome technique.
This maybe a dumb question. But, where do you fish. That you catch bass and specks in the same area. Begin one is freshwater and one is salted. Not asking for a spot. Just an area.
I wonder how it looks underwater with and without popping corks.. maybe the rattle trap is more upright with those corks? compared to straight line which is more headfirst..
@@MarshManMasson thanks! really love your underwater lure footage.. but your video does not include the popping cork.. wonder what's the difference? I think you could fish it slower.. anyway great vids keep it coming..

I have been using these for more than 30 years and never once thought of using them under a float. I will definitely try this next trip.
me and my dog love your videos especially when you squeak out the cuss words. he goes and gets his baby and waits by the phone. 😂
I love seeing you two compete. It's fun to watch the dynamic. Thanks for sharing.

Using wrong bobber with rat l trap. In texas we use the cheap foam peg floats, 2 ft line then lure. Cast and reel 👍
Looks like a great way to slow down and fish for nothern pike and musky's!
Video of both you and Joel's new tackle set ups would be a great video.
Nice trip . So glad you put it the footage of the truck wash. Super fun video.
I thought about that but never tried it. Excellent job. I want to try it with inline spinners.
Ive caught a mullet on a h&h black red glitter smoke grub before, and it was hooked in the mouth.
I’ve caught one on a matrix shad hooked in the mouth also
You have raised your son the right way
He's a fine young man, that's for sure

Clean that trolling motor 😂😂
This is like the third video after he got it muddy 🤣
Actually, I cleaned it yesterday. Took it out today, and the reflection of the sun blinded me, it's so shiny
I bet a paul brown under a cork would be awesome
Rat-L-traps are truly top 10 greatest baits ever no debate.
Easily
Ii have yet to catch anything on them but I'm gonna make it happen next outing. I gotta throw them more often
Dam that squeaky sound is funny as hell
This is definitely different. How do you work these with the cork on compared to not using one?
Pop it like a normal bait under the cork

Would love breakdown on Joel's cadence

What size line is on you're spinning rig?
Main line is 30-pound Soft Steel braid. Leader is 14-pound Matrix mono
where fishing marsh man or you dont tell the fishermen of La where
Also what size rat l trap
I threw 1/4oz
Poor Joel. One day a peacock next day a feather duster.
🤣
I really never understand why every fisherman plays with the fish at the boat and let’s the fish take control right by the boat and end up losing it
Lah J never loses any fish
@@MarshManMasson can’t believe you responded love the vids and I lose plenty of fish because I do the same thing I just said it’s a habit 😂
So you let your competitor tie your knots.....
False Advertising Traps under Corks 16 minute video Traps under Corks 3 minutes
That wasn't a bad knot man get out of here that was your fault
I think it was YOUR fault
I think it was Brandon’s fault
Confession, it's my fault
