I'm so sorry to hear that you cut your finger the way you did. I hope the nerves in your finger completely healed. I had a similar accident many years ago when I accidentally sliced a nerve in my finger. Definitely not fun.

I'm sure you can get something called arnica gel, my wife and I use it to repair cuts and bruises and to take down swelling. It may help speed your recovery from the stitches.I'm sure it's available in the EU. Prayers and healing wishes to you, physically and otherwise.

I had seen the Sally Rooney book being given prominence in Waterstones but didn't twig a chess connection, so thanks, I will wait for the paperback though. I read the Ali Hazelwood one (purely because it is chess adjacent) not exactly the target market as I am over 60 but I enjoyed it. I would give it 8.5 out of ten on chess accuracy but the author's note suggests most of the "errors" are artistic licence. I hadn't heard of the Rematch series - is it mainly in French?? Hope your finger is better soon.
