Thank you for bringing up the baker Mayfield thing. I've been telling everyone that baker was 3-0 against burrow. It doesn't mean the qb is better. It's the team
With all due respect, that’s just a bad analogy. Unless you (and Nick) are saying that the gap between Mayfield and Burrow, or Plummer and Brady, is the same as that between Burrow and Mahomes. Mayfield’s a hair away from becoming a career backup. Plummer finished with a career 1:1 TD-to-INT ratio (161 TD’s, 161 INT’s). Unless you’re saying that Burrow is THAT caliber of QB, then the analogy doesn’t hold up.

If they did a blind reveal everyone would pick Mahomes. The only argument for Burrow is that the Bengals beat the Chiefs 3 times. But if you're comparing the greatness of the QB's (not only in their matchups but the entire league) there is no debate. It's like how Golden State was beating up on Cleveland a few years back. We all still knew Lebron was better than both Steph and KD.

If not, then you need better analogies. And the Golden State analogy is a gross exaggeration of the talent-gap between Cincinnati and KC. Nick Wright himself has said that the Chiefs have shown over the totality of the past two seasons that they’re the better team, and while I disagree with that take, I DO laugh at any attempts to make Sunday’s game a David and Goliath situation.
And are you saying that Burrow is already the Steph Curry or KD of football? You do realize that-historically speaking-neither Burrow NOR Mahomes can match résumés with Steph Curry, right? Nor should either guy be compared to Lebron.
And when comparing QBs, I would expect the one with 3 more years experience in the league than the other to be the more accomplished, productive QB. Especially one as talented as Mahomes. And when you consider the fact that Mahomes inherited a much better rookie-year situation than did Burrow (Mahomes got to learn behind Alex Smith, while Burrow was thrown into the fire behind one of the league’s worst offensive lines), it would’ve been an upset had Mahomes NOT been more productive and accomplished. But you’re wanting to compare their bodies of work, when I’m saying that Burrow doesn’t have to be the better QB all-time to be considered better RIGHT NOW. If Burrow gets the job done over this weekend and in the Super Bowl, I see no reason why-overall résumé’s aside-I can’t justify wanting Burrow over Mahomes for NEXT season. I’m not evaluating their careers, although it’s no shame on Burrow’s part that he’s lagging numbers-wise behind a GREAT QB with a 3-year head start on him (2 years as a starter).

You forgot to mention the part where Mahomes walked into a team that was already a perennial playoff team that had made playoffs 4 of the 5 previous seasons before Mahomes got there, that already had a top 5 offense, one of the most explosive weapons in the league, the best receiving TE in the league a potent run game, and a solid offensive line. Not to mention a top tier coach already considered one of the best in the game, a QB whisperer, and a play designing genius.
What did Burrow inherit? The worst team in the league the season before. The 30th ranked offense. The worst offensive line in the league. A new and unproven coach. How can you even compare them? What Burrow has done has been far more impressive and he’s had two and a half less years to do it.

Football is team sport, why do we not hold the other 52 guys and the coaching staff accountable? #15 is amazing and has come a long ways since last year, but so has the Chiefs organization as a whole. I used to watch FTF back when it first started but got tired of watching CC slap Nick and Jenna around. Back then the only reason to watch was to see Jenna lean on her elbow and show how Jacked her arms are. I would get amazed all over again everyday. Look at everything the Bengals needed to win those 3 games by 3 points each: 3 #1 WRs, good rb, good to great defense, highest penalty differential over the last 2 years in decades, highest # of tunrovers called back by penalty by a large margin, and the better teams in their division getting major injuries at the end of the season. And it still took KC fumbling or missing kicks for them to win.
The team that screws up more generally loses…shocking stuff you’re onto there.
Three wins isn’t luck, at that point it’s a pattern. Maybe you need to ask yourself why the Chiefs have a pattern of making mistakes that cost them the game.

KC, CIN, BUF are the class of the AFC right now, and I hope none of these teams go anywhere. They have already given us the best games a lot of people have ever seen in the last two years. Bengal fan here, and Burrow is also different.. He's as good of a clock manager as Garoppolo, and has Brady type skills throwing the ball. Last 13 games KC is 12-1 losing only to Cincinnati, and the Bengals are 12-1 only losing to Cleveland. Before Buff lost they were 12-2 in their last 14 games. Tell me that these three teams won't rule the AFC for the next 5 years.

This year, Mahomes had 5,250 Passing Yards in the Regular Season; broke the record for Most Total Offensive Yards in a Single Season with 5,608 yards including 6 Receiving Yards he passed to HIMSELF; won MVP, the SB & SBMVP.

As a Chiefs fan (a true fan not a toxic bandwagon) I’ve pretty much admitted that the Bengals are our kryptonite much like we were to the Ravens and Bills for a while. I think Burrow plays better than Mahomes in those games and I’ve been losing hope but Nick has a good point and the stats he brought up reminded me how reliable our QB is and I think overall he’s still better but we’ll see over the next few years what happens. Hoping for a great game it has the potential to be better than the Super Bowl.

Even I said the chiefs D will match up well, notice how I didn't need to talk about how the Bengals smack the daylight out of their cheeks to justify why they can do well? You can even say "I trust Reid to make the adjustments given a fourth chance", that's valid. That's a much better reason to give than "we've never been able to hold a lead against them and their effort has always been so much better than ours in the playoffs, so they won't expect it if we actually play competently for the second half"

If Burrow and the Bengals win the next two games, they're both the best team and the best QB in all of football. Mahomes has won exactly one SBowl. It's awesome, but it's one, like Rodgers and really like Stafford or any other ONE. I've never understood how Rodgers and Brady can be compared, it's not even close.
