Thank you Kristen for all of your insight into becoming a DPT. For all of you DPT majors, being a very close friend to a PT for years, it is very possible to make as much as other Doctorial professions in the medical field and even more, if and when you decide to own your own practice! I would advise working for some years under and with other DPT professional before ever branching out, but it is an excellent goal to strive for.
I just got accepted into DPT school and that is my ultmate goal
oh bless your heart, I hope you end up loving your career for as long as possible. Unfortunately, older therapists have seen the profession become more and more broken over the years.
You don't know how happy I am, I never thought my question would ever be in one of your videos!
(I'm the one who asked if you ever regret this major).
Believe it or not, I have been BINGE watching your videos ever since my senior year in high school (I watch you all the way from Jordan 🇯🇴). I always have been interested in this major and finding your TH-cam channel was such a blessing, you made me even more excited about being a physical therapist in the future.
I know physical therapy is misunderstood sometimes, and people where I live, or let's say in the middle east don't know what physiotherapists really do, they always say we only "massage" people which is so not true! I hope one day I can prove them wrong.
Thank you again for being honest while answering my question, and for giving me the positive vibes I needed.
I really hope you will be happy and fulfilled with your career in the near future! 💞💞💞💞
thank you for asking such a great question!!❤❤❤ & thank you for all of your kind words and support. you will be an amazing physiotherapist! love from the US
girl omg I'm Middle Eastern too! I am studying in PT school right now in America! I'm in my third week and don't know any Middle Eastern physical therapists. I am lowkey worried about the job search and if I will regret my major when I go back to my country! Are you in PT school?
@@layanb.6684 omg thats amazing!!! one of my goals is to complete studying masters in the united states, it has always been a dream!! 🥹 don’t worry about the job thing rn! but i’m telling you, rn physical therapy is getting more appreciated in the middle east AS IT SHOULD, and people are more aware of what we are doing and what our major is all about, and the jobs are pretty easy to find, especially in egypt and gulf countries. ( كل حدا رزقته مكتوبة بالاخير وين ما كان) 🤍
and yesss, i’m majoring in physical therapy in Jordan!!
Hey what happened to u
R u studying PT now?
Hello! Thank you for these tips! I love your videos and they really help motivate me and make me excited. I am a high school senior and I am very excited to start my pre physical therapy program next year!
thank you for watching & your kind words🥰 best of luck to you! you got this
If you don't do gentle PROM on a person in ICU who is in a coma say due to a head injury this person will contract. 5 reps is all that is needed. Just go easy. A seasoned therapist will know how far to go (based on end feel) to safely perform it and to avoid any injury.
i agree! but that is something that can be carried out by nursing along with proper positioning. its not a skilled service for PT to be providing. there aren’t enough PTs in the hospital as is and they need to make sure the patients they are seeing really need skilled PT services. hope this helps!
@@kristennicolosi now that is another discission to be had.
There’s also grad student fb groups for clinicals. Sometimes you can sublet other people’s apartments while they’re also on clinical and kinda borrow their place! This helps to accommodate that short term because you just temporarily take their place and they do the same thing somewhere else.
thanks for sharing!💗
Awesome videos 😊 you cover everything that is needed to be successful in PT!
thank you Chris! ☺️ hope you are doing well!
Even if you regret been a PT,that wouldnt stop others stop from chasing the dream
Because it is just that, a "dream", and mature thinkers know that dreams are just fantasies.
Hi Kristen good morning happy Sunday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
thank you for watching!
Before I obtain my undergrad I have been having a hard decision on PT or PA school
Hey Kristen! I love your videos! I’m a first year at UCF and I was wondering if you could make a video abt preparation for clinicals! What you think is helpful for going into the first one?
hi!! 💗 thank you so much, thats a great idea. will add it to the list 🥰 good luck to you!
Hey kayla I’m in ucf too almost finishing my bachelor in health science then apply for Pre-physical therapy program. Good luck
Also if you add time stamps that would be really helpful
I have a random question. Do physical therapy assistants need the COVID vaccine to secure employment? Thanks in advance! 🙏
hi! many places of employment do require it, but i think it really depends where you work ☺️
Very happy to watch your vediooos, I finished my bachelor in health science now applying for pre-physical therapy program and it’s like 2 years, am i in the right direction to be DPT ?
Thanks
yes definitely! best of luck to you!!!
did you apply to schools in Philadelphia? im kinda curious why you didn't study there.
i am from philly & did my undergraduate at UGA, and i wasn’t quite yet ready to move back north for grad school☺️ive loved my time in Atlanta! i only applied to 1 PT school, my current program Mercer early decision and was accepted
Hey what books are u using for NPTE preparation ??
im doing the npte final frontier independent study bundle! and also a little bit of supplementing with my scorebuilders review book
What happens if you fail 6 times?
I believe you can not try again so you do not have your license
What is the salary of PT in US ?
a typical starting salary for a DPT in my state is ~60-80,000 depending where you work. hope this helps!
@@kristennicolosi love you , thanks 💖
@@manakhalel1253 love you too!!
