Hey! I'm studying for the NPTE exam in Jan and I'm also using final frontier. I was wondering if the reading timeables are necessary or just the videos?
I did them, but also know people who did not. personally I would read them if its a topic you feel less confident in :)
I am a PT, i dont know any other career as alternate. Maybe an MD if not a PT.
PTA, OTA, OT, SLP, RN, PA, DO…tons of options :)
@@kristennicolosi not for me, PT is my path. You follow yours; I follow mine
your dog waking up just to stare in the camera for a minute cracks me up lol. Thank you this video was very helpful!
Can you explain more about how grades don’t matter? This is the first time I’m hearing about this and i have been extremely nervous about DPT school. Thank you ! :)
sure! basically- in my program as long as you scored about a 78 on each exam or competency/skills check, that was considered passing. if you were below that, you remediate or have to meet with professors. overall, GPA doesn’t matter much, jobs care more that you take & pass the NPTE to get your license & have good reccomendations from your clinical instructors, not if you have a 4.0 versus a 3.5 for example. hope this helps!
You probably won’t see this anymore because how old this video is. But I am a physical therapist assistant student and I just wanted to ask do you think it would be beneficial to invest in a iPad air or something like that because I find using notability on my Mac just doesn’t allow me to remember it and be able to use the PowerPoints they provide I think writing on them would be a good investment for my learning and career.
definitely worth it! loved my ipad!
This is fun to see as someone studying to become a PTA and have an interest in woman's health (and may go on to get a DPT in the future as a result)! TFS!
thanks for watching! ptas are awesome-best of luck to you!
Good morning Kristen welcome back so happy you posted today and I hope you doing well and you are amazing supporter
thank you!!
yay!!! can’t wait for more of your videos!
thanks for watching 🩷
Hiii i just wana ask you that is the scope of dpt is increasing?and how did you feel after choosing this.... Question from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Hey! I am a senior in High School looking to go into PT and I have been watching you along with some others for some time now. I'd love to see an updated video on the entire process of getting into PT and completing school along with residency (almost), whether you recommend it and what someone like I should expect - kind of a new and updated recap of the videos: Q&A + 5 reasons why you shouldn't do PT + 10 things I wish I knew before going into PT + maybe a pathway of PT and what you would recommend doing and how to best prepare including school studies and working etc. Those videos were quite some time ago so I would assume there has been a lot more since then that has happened. Welcome back and congratulations on everything! (Cats are awesome by the way)
hi! best of luck to you🩷 thanks for the recommendations I really appreciate them!!!
Hello, can you suggest any skilled nursing facility or assisted living facility that allow shadowing in ATL area
maybe try reaching out to Encompass :)
@@kristennicolosithanks a ton
Is this a doctorate degree program……? I’m going to be honest I’m shook on the pay. You make more as an insurance adjuster here in west Texas and that’s in a very affordable city in comparison. Awesome you are sharing your experience as they happen. Really helps to form people decisions more accurately!
yes it is a doctorate program, thanks for the support!
You aren't gonna use the pencil with it??
yes I do!
I'm not sure I'd be able to handle the cadaver labs. Can you tell me more about this?
hi! it may differ by schools, but I was in a small group of 4-5 people & we all worked together to get the job done, so some people were more/less comfortable with certain tasks so we divied up the work. you got this- you aren’t the only one who is nervous!
I watched you during my undergrad and up until my dpt acceptance (: Now I’m 1 month into PT school and during my advising group, my advisor pulled up your video to show our group haha. your videos have always helped so much! 🤍
AW this is so sweet😊💛 thank you for sharing! best of luck to you! can I ask where you go to school?
6:48, you honestly said there’s PT’s who’ve been practicing for decades, now dont know they can see patients without a referral? Come on now …
hi! I wasn’t referring to PT’s being unaware (obviously they are)- but other healthcare professionals (MD DO NP RN PA etc) who have been in the field a long time don’t entirely understand how our scope of practice and education has evolved from the time say they were in college with friends studying for PT as a bachelors

I been hoping to see if you posted a new video 😂. Thanks and wish you the best.
thanks so much!
Hi! I am new to your channel and recently decided I want to take the route to become a physical therapist. I am not sure if you still make videos on getting into a DPT programs. But, if possible, a video on calculating your program-prerequisite gpa and what to do if you have more than the required classes in biology, mathematics, etc. and how that translates to the GPA would be super helpful.
thanks for the request & good luck to you! i will write it down:) i did take some summer classes & study abroad to get more credits to fit in to still graduate in time!
Awesome to see you again Kristen! 😊
thank youuu☺️
Hi there! I'm currently under care of a PT, working on rehabbing my L-4 herniated disc. Came here from your video about not going to Physical Therapy School, and after watching this one I think I'm going to subscribe and stick around 😄🤙🏼
you’re so nice, thank you so much!
Congrats on your engagement!! So happy that you are back making videos. Im a first year PT student and I really appreciate your videos and advice! Im interested in women’s health so I would love to hear more about that and the common things you treat and what the application process looked like to get into your residency program. Thank you!
thank you! best of luck to you! great video requests I’ll save them
Nice to see you on here again! I've been curious to know how your journey's been.
thank you!!
So nice to see you on here again! I used to watch your videos for study tips at the start of my journey, love where we both are now. You should post whatever your heart desires not just pt content, i'd still watch
thank you🥹🩷 this means so much!
So glad to see you back! I’ve been checking your channel a lot lately as I’ve been thinking about a Womens health residency. Would love to see you talk about hobbies and things outside of PT! If you decide you want to talk about your residency, I’d love to hear your opinion on the experience!
thank you so much for supporting me! definitely plan to do a video about residency☺️ been a big reader these days & plan to show more in vlogs too💛
Hi i am bpt student (bachelor of physiotherapy) in India, I am always worried, I am very short and slim person. So the physical appearance of student matter?
it can definitely be harder physically at times, but some of the best PTs I know are tiny
As an undergrad, I’m still finding my purpose and passion… Physical Therapy does seem enticing and challenging… best wishes !! P.S. What made you chose P/T as your career path?
best of luck to you! I was a gymnast growing up so was exposed to PT a lot as a kid with injuries, I found pelvic PT through shadowing a family friend and fell in love
love your honesty in this; definitely take your time and put your energy into yourself! i was wondering, do you enjoy pt so far? or would you chose something else in the healthcare field?
thank you so much🩷 I do really enjoy & love what I do every day! I think theres a lot of factors to consider in choosing PT vs other healthcare jobs (schooling, schedule, remote work options, salary, future family/flexibility).
What are some good PTA Programs in the ATL area. going to moving to Covington GA end of this year
I’ve heard great things about chattahoochee tech☺️
So exciting to find other physical therapist in this platform. Congratulations for all your accomplishments!!!
you are so nice thank you so much!
Hi Kristen, thanks for making this video! Im a fresh spt just out of undergrad and im already having a hard time adjusting. Your video really helped me with how im feeling and I’m hoping I can get thru this
There is NO LAW that says salary sharing is illegal. You CAN share your salary!!! This is why there is soooo many differences in salaries with folks that have the SAME experience and educational background. Stop being private about salaries and take away the power from greedy corporations!
Every job is bad for an introvert, so I might as well suck it up and pick something…
So true except for accounting and lab work.
i know this is a year ago, but this is my dream job! thanks for the inspiration girly!
of course, best of luck to you!
Would the stuff u buy be the same for athletic trainers? Cause I can't find any videos for athletic trainers 😭
probably similar!
You should have test back in undergrad that will show you options where you should place you foot in the door. Cost of PT program same as commercial pilot. Would you be a pilot or PT? Now you know you are going to be PT😊
I heard there are accelerated programs that you can become a physical therapist in 14 months in this true? Does anyone knows
PTA maybe! most DPT programs are 2.5-3 years after undergrad
How much did it cost to have those printed at Staples? Thanks!!
i believe around $45!
Is_she canada?🇨🇦
no I'm from the US!
Please everyone listen!! Travel PT for 2-3 years right out of school!! You can net 90-120k salary! Do not take a perm job! You’ll love it!
Thank you
Salaries for PTs are shockingly lower than expected. Not sure why the field moved to a doctorate degree, rather than staying at the bachelor's level.
Thanks for this comment. I was telling a friend that thinks she’ll make 100k with only a bachelor degree. I’m telling her the more education and more experience is where the $ comes in at. People really need to do research.
I my opinion, there isn’t many professions that are worse for time and money invested vs the salary reward at the end of the rainbow. I think PA, NP, and Pharmacist are much better health care professions.
Yeah I agree on those other professions. Even if u just stuck with a bachelors degree RN, you can make a decent wage with only 4 yrs of schooling & good quality of life, and perhaps invest $ wisely elsewhere to have a really good nest egg.
well i am going for my Doctorate of physical therapy i am going to university of georgia thank you for your help.
that is so exciting you will love UGA! soak up every minute
Congrats ❤ I’m also taking FINAL FRONTIER for my PCE this year…. Hoping to see the passed result
you got this!
