This is a very good review. Generally I feel like the youtube Gundam reviewers are a little bit better, but this was perfect. Broke out into chapters, discussed everything that needed to be discussed. Very well done. i look forward to your other videos.
You can replace the polycaps in the shoulders with 0.17" inside diameter by 0.25" outside diameter clear vinyl tubing. Since the post is 5mm in diameter .017" is about .6 MM too small on the inside and to small to snugly fit on the slot in the leg and the tubing doesn't stretch so cut open the tubing so the post end can actually fit in it. It enlarges enough to be snug It's not quite as snug as the polycaps when they are fresh but snug enough it won't grenade. Got some at a hardware store.
Slowly building this kit and adding a thin layer of rubber glue or instant glue plus a joint strengthening pen turned this kit from low tier (from what others have said) to and absolute monster of a kit. My journey to this kit though went from mg gunpla to 3rd party gunpla, then custom conversions to finally the shield liger hmm. I think the path I took to get here was able to help me with this being my first kit.
Love this kit! The simple design really grows on you. Glued a few parts that dont impair the articulation. Overall a pretty fun build from start to finish.
its my fist zoid kit. i also find those missle pods annoying as hell. i just shut em down and forget about them. i glued some parts just to save my self from future headache. overall super solid kit.
Working on my dcs-j variant at the moment. I can agree that the neck portion seems very empty and tail bothers me as well (Quite new to zoid hmm liger besides wild variant). Side armor that drops down with missile pod is very weak on its joint to carry big guns, its either stay up or folded down and when its up, its not perfectly straight up. Side shoulder armor (gill looking things) are driving my OCD to limit cuz due to policaps they don't close in flush to rest of parts. They kind of hang there. Regardless, cool thorough review, I honestly don't think I would order it again due to structural issues and its proportions but glad to have experienced how far Zoid Hmm lineup came up to be since its launch. Instead of marking plus/ repackaging, I wish they could do 2.0 update on these
Huh, as for me, I have no problems with the shoulder armor. But yes, the armor on the missile pod is also an issue I forgot to mention. It's indeed a very old model kit that shouldve been a Repackaged version instead of a Marking Plus
from my experience in building the shield liger and ( blade ligers) they have WEAK and loose articulation: Shield liger is the mane that deploy the shield that's loose, and for the blade liger its the shoulder pads vent, so weak articulation i would say for the blade liger its the Joins to attack the legs, idk how many time i nearly broke parts and blew my model kit apart like a hand grenade, trying to put the legs on, shield liger i broke both back leg joins trying to gently put the legs on, i build 2 shield liger ( 1 completely broke apart and un finish able) 1 i cracked the join for back leg, i build 3 blade liger AB and 1 blade liger and 1 blade liger blue ray, and out of all of them ONLY my blur ray was able to not break apart, still had trouble putting the back legs on but i got them on without breaking anything, those 2 liger type gave me so much hate building them now that i want nothing to do with the shield/blade ligers, i also did alot of liger zero ( missing the Panzer) and never had an issue, i did 2 berserk fury ( 1 with sturm tyrann cas armor) and 1 sturm tyran) and NONE of those ever gave me such hate on a model kit like the shield and blade liger, i would hightly recommand not letting new zoid builders start with these 2
I discovered your channel by accident and I have already seen so many videos of yours, that I want to start buying zoids model kits, so would you recommend me some? it does not matter the price
@ 3:39 , mine aren't loose. Maybe it's an issue either on the build or in the model kit that you got. Edit: The PC parts from the BT Shield Liger fit quite well on this kit 😅 So if you need spare PC's due to loosening, you guys know what to do 😅
I've never been super fond of the Shield Liger design. It just feels a bit bare bones and boxy compared to its future iterations which I know is through no fault of its own being one of the oldest Zoids designs

If you're a huge a fan of the show this is a must buy.

Love to see these models coming back. Especially the shield liger. Love that zoid.

Thanks for the review
I ordered mine already 🥰

Great video! Do you know of or recommend any Zoids stands? Brand or anything like that?
Fingers crossed for a Shield Liger MK-II Marking Plus Ver.
Bro where can I order one? Very nice review
Don't forget, Bandai will release the Soul of Chogokin Liger Zero figure next year!
are the repackage versions have better quality and stability than the original releases?

whats the diameter of this rotating base that you are using?

Thanks! I'll prob re assemble it to see if there are any nubs that are sticking out.

Other than the weapons, were the blade liger and shield basically same builds?
Only the body, tail, and limbs. The feet, head, and weapon system are all different
