Great old wrestling content! I humbly apologize and also thank anybody back in the day who had cable TV and I would show up around, say, 6 05 on a Saturday night
Junkyard Dog in his absolute prime, lean and jacked. He was never a great worker but he had tons of charisma, solid on the mic and a great look at this point in his career.

A lot of people that wrestled back then just filtered into the regular workforce. They aren't even recognized for their efforts. I see some of them often. 😢
Amazing how everything runs in circles. Not that far in the future Paul and Orton would be together again with a new partner Roddy Piper in the biggest event in Wrestling history Wrestlemania.
Around 1979-1980 he wrestled one of the Assassins in Memphis, and was locked in a tight full nelson for a while. He had a lot of trouble getting out of it. I’ve never found it on TH-cam though.
Frank Monte also had a great physique. The next year he placed second in a bodybuilding contest, and also wrestled Ken Patera, who put him unconscious with a full nelson. That match IS on TH-cam!
All these matches are trash, it's a superstar against a jabronie, give us some real matches with two guys that are equal, and both superstars, this garbage is not even worth watching.
Look at the dates of these shows - this was over Christmas. The end of year shows typically had few if any real matches as so many of the guys were off for the holidays. The vast majority of Mid South Wrestling (and Houston Wrestling for that matter) TV shows had some decent matches and action which is why their TV shows were so far superior to anything that was on any WWF TV show.
@@larryscott1227 Hey Jobber, I forgot more about rasslin then you know. I am 64 years old and I have been watching rasslin since 1970. Back in the days of the Crusher, and Dick The Bruiser, so get lost twink, your Mother is calling you for dinner.
This early to mid 80's Mid South Wrestling content is GOLD! THANK GOD somebody had the foresight to preserve these timeless classics!
The BEST Wrestling days!💪🏻

Ellering was freaking hilarious. LOL
Can you dig it? 😂😂😂

I mailed in on that when I was a kid. I chose Reeser Bowden vs. Boyd Pierce. It didn't get chosen though.

Don Serrano also wrestled in the WWF under a mask as The Black Demon.
Did Don ever stay in North Little Rock?

" Paul Elering will be back from his injury.". No, no he won't. Only for 1 match then hes injured again , then quits to manage.
I did not realize that the Million Dollar Man was such a big man 6’4
Once you see these guys in person, they are BIG!
@@mattclassic1855 i am 6’2 I can’t believe he is taller than me

Very nice❤❤🎉🎉😊😊❤🎉😊
Only 2 comments after being posted over 2 years ago? This is classic fiefdom wrestling before Hogan and WWF were major promotions.
it has been said that Precious Paul never drew a dime as a wrestler on his own. I would have paid to watch THIS Precious One
These guys sold well back then.
Ellering was legit not many people crossed him
never see that coming
Ed Wiskowski aka "Col. DeBeers."
Paul Ellering had such a muscular physique

@@phulnelson That would of been a good match to see
@@phulnelson Thanks I will look it up. Did not know Frank was a bodybuilder. He did have a nice muscular body himself
Khomeini's personal bodyguard, that's funny!
At one time he was a bodyguard for the Shah of Iran

That is how TV wrestling worked then. Give them just enough to want to buy a ticket.
Got to tenderness this was to sell tickets for the matches. Typical for this Era. Make the stars look good.

It's obvious you don't know anything about wrestling
