    I mailed in on that when I was a kid. I chose Reeser Bowden vs. Boyd Pierce. It didn't get chosen though.

    Junkyard Dog in his absolute prime, lean and jacked. He was never a great worker but he had tons of charisma, solid on the mic and a great look at this point in his career.

    A lot of people that wrestled back then just filtered into the regular workforce. They aren't even recognized for their efforts. I see some of them often. 😢

      Around 1979-1980 he wrestled one of the Assassins in Memphis, and was locked in a tight full nelson for a while. He had a lot of trouble getting out of it. I’ve never found it on TH-cam though.

    • @phulnelson
      @phulnelson 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Frank Monte also had a great physique. The next year he placed second in a bodybuilding contest, and also wrestled Ken Patera, who put him unconscious with a full nelson. That match IS on TH-cam!

    All these matches are trash, it's a superstar against a jabronie, give us some real matches with two guys that are equal, and both superstars, this garbage is not even worth watching.

      That is how TV wrestling worked then. Give them just enough to want to buy a ticket.

    • @David-v8y2g
      @David-v8y2g 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Got to tenderness this was to sell tickets for the matches. Typical for this Era. Make the stars look good.

      Look at the dates of these shows - this was over Christmas. The end of year shows typically had few if any real matches as so many of the guys were off for the holidays. The vast majority of Mid South Wrestling (and Houston Wrestling for that matter) TV shows had some decent matches and action which is why their TV shows were so far superior to anything that was on any WWF TV show.
