This seems like a solution looking for a problem. My experience is that noisy toppers are usually a result of poor installation where there is not enough tension on the topper spring. When incorrectly tensioned it gets extremely loose when the slide is retracted and the fabric starts flapping around badly while going down the road leading to a torn topper. Another important benefit of a traditional topper is that in the summer the top of the slide box is shaded from the sun. While the RV roof is 4"-5" thick, the slide box is a barely insulated 3/4" leading to some serious heat gain. Ever open an over-bed storage compartments on a hot, sunny day?
Thanks for the comment! Could be a possibility and we will be sure to update after while to share our experience and any issues that may arise. Appreciate you watching 😊
Thanks guys! Enjoying your stories and storytelling style. Good heads up regarding True Topper. Always great to see support of small businesses like this.
We had this done in spring of 2024. With our three slides, we were quoted just over $4000 and the custom paint added just under $1000 I believe. I believe it depends on how many slides how big the slides are, and whether you get custom paint/number of colors But that will give you a rough ballpark. They were very good about giving us an accurate quote once we sent them pictures and details. As of September 2024, we are still very happy with our decision! Hope this helps - thank you for watching! 😊 Make sure you mention us if you get it done in Oregon you will get a discount.
