    I was one of the engineers doing the Gin Blossoms work in their iconic days, but a full on metalhead/hardcore punk who figured I would hate this band, but they are some of the most awesome people in the world and AMAZING musicians, like mindblowing multi instrumentalists, but even more, just all around good guys who go way out of their way to help people and make positive life changes in others. So glad to see someone showing their songs here. In the Valley of the Sun, the scene's fanbase often lovingly refers to the whole scene as "the dead hot swafford blossoms", if you are covering the song in the bar, you will hear the audience sing along in the chorus, "Hey Jesse!" Which is even more fun if its Jesse Valenzuela playing that night.

    Bravo! I was surprised at the lack of solo tabs for this song a few years back so I ended up teaching it to myself out of necessity. I play it a touch different than you do here, but it's great to see someone finally have a tutorial on not just the simple chords but the whole thing from the octave melodies to the rythms to the solo. Nicely done!

    My band is covering this song and the first place I came to learn it was this channel (come for the Pearl Jam, stay for all the goods!). Sadly it wasn’t here so I had to go elsewhere. Glad it’s here one week later so I can ensure it’s done right!! Love the content!

    Reviving a forgotten jem! I love the 90's and miss it greatly....not just because I was young and free, but because we had really great rock, alternative, grunge, etc. As a musician myself, I would not like being a young teen/20 something nowdays or for the last 10 years where rap and pop is heavily promoted from music media.....gotta have rock for me!

    What a song! We have it our Red Mosquito setlist, and we recorded it for our demo about 4 years ago. Think I play it roughly the same, but there's a lot to cover with just the one guitar 😉 This was timely as just off to RM rehearsal now, we have a gig Saturday and this opens set 1 😎 Great video mate, and kudos for giving TGB some love. There's a few on Congratulations... I'm Sorry which would make a good lesson, Follow You Down springs to mind.

    Hello, I am an absolute fan of your channel! I love it especially when you show new pedals in the context of some band of our time! I particularly loved the sound of the pedal you showed here, being able to make those distorted chords and make them sound clear, I wanted to ask you with which pedal, more "recognized", could I get a similar sound? I'm from Chile and I doubt I can get that pedal here! Cheers

    • @LetsPlayAll
      @LetsPlayAll  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate! You just need an overdrive pedal for this one, so anything that has a decent eq will get you there! I’m not sure what you’d have available in Chile tbh - hope that helps!

    Do you use individual pedals mostly or do you have a helix etc? What’s your take on them ? Multi fx

    • @LetsPlayAll
      @LetsPlayAll  ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks mate! individual pedals mostly, haven't tried the helix but modelling has come a long way, i mean Jerry and Mike have used Line 6 stuff for years, i think they both have MM4s in their current live rigs, i know Jerry defo does so i'm sure they're decent!

    The Gin Blossoms was one those quintessential 90s rock band with that 90 ingredient and groove that still no other bands since the 90s has been able to capture, RIP Doug Hopkins.
    If you are trying to sound like the 90's not a bad thing at all check out "Alex Sucks" these guys are really really close. My pro-tip is, the 90s was grungy AF, it was everywhere just remember to add your attitude to your music along with your issues and a slightly out of tune guitar. Do not let "perfect" be the enemy of "good".
