For those of you who can’t, or won’t, spend a lot on tees….I love the ones I get at Walmart, long sleeve, in the misses dept. I wash on cold, gentle, then dry on a rack. I like both the crew and V neck for under blazers, sweaters, etc. I only wear jeans so don’t know how they look with trousers. The V neck is not deep so not revealing. For reference, I’m 5ft tall, 65 yrs old. For short sleeve I get them out of the Jr dept. I like a curved hem and although these are not 100% cotton, I like the fabric blend. Just my experience with these these tees from Walmart.
I grew up in the 70's, so I like a nice heavy-weight cotton t-shirt. I prefer 100% cotton, but will go with a blend, but I want the cotton percentage to be high. My #1 non-negotiable is that it cannot be even remotely see-through. 😅
Thank you! I’m also 5’ 0” and found this helpful. I haven’t ever tried any of the brands you tested. I usually choose between Talbots 100% Pima cotton or Land’s End. Both come in petite sizing.
At 65, and too lazy to work out, my biceps/upper arms are not firm anymore and I have “old lady” skin. Is there a brand, cotton, with arms that are either elbow length or almost?
So many variables besides price - I have a couple ancient ( ! ) White Stag brand tees from Walmart that are still in great shape & still very white . High price in anything does not always equal best quality . Wear- alone tees vs. tees that will be worn under a blazer or top , no-see-thru " sturdier " fabric vs. lighter . thinner , perhaps dressier fabric , sleeve lengths , body lengths , etc. Yep , it's nice to have a collection of white tees ( & your favorite colors too ) & good when you find your ideal tees , to buy a few to rotate in your wardrobe . Personally , I 've tees from many sources & especially love silk , linen and/or cotton blends . 👕👚
Hey Cynthia! Lol yes I totally agree! Depending on the outfit you need a couple good t shirts to rotate. I swear by Uniqlo for quality and affordability, but since I purchased all of these to make this video, safe to say I’m good for quite a while lol 😂
@@LoriLundquist Lucky you ! Our weather here in central Illinois is supposed to have four seasons but more recent roller- coasting temps. call for even more varying layers . Lots of tees , both short & long sleeve , help . ( Life should not be this difficult ! 😂 ) Looking into Uniqlo as a new source - thanks ! 💟
@@LoriLundquist I'll meet your NC weather swings & go one better ( or worse ! ) w/ our 28 -degree wind chill yesterday & 65 today - honest ! Years ago , I prepped my show horse in sweltering Memorial Day heat , then by show time early that evening , we had a record breaking 30 degree drop ; I remember cause other horses were going crazy in the cold air but it didn't phase my South Dakota - raised ( cold weather ! ) mare . ( We had a good show , bless her solid mind & good heart ...🏆 ) 😂
White T-shirts are such staple pieces of clothing to have and a video like this one was needed. I found the best fitting and quality tshirt to be the Uniqlo one although there are pluses for all the rest. It is truly hard to find a piece that meets all the wanted criteria but it looks like price is not always a guarantee for top quality. I tend to prioritize some aspects that may be important for me and focus on those, like material, heaviness, cut and length. Very seldom I find something that is just perfeect! Lol Having recently lost some weight, I have to update my wardrobe so I have a tough job ahead....
Hey Monica! It was shocking to find that the high price of a few of those t’s did not mean high quality. Definitely paying for the brand name. Congrats on the weight loss!!
Lori, exactly my thought. I automatically associate better quality with higher prices. I don't even question it most times but I really should look more attentively at details, like you have shown in the video. Thanks for making me more aware! 👍
I have ordered the Uniglo and am waiting to see how they work for me. Right now, my favorite t is from Abercrombie & Fitch - it's their Essential t but I didn't buy white because I didn't want the disappointment of my bra possibly showing through...I bought the light brown (I love brown and wish I could find it in chocolate brown). This t is nice and short for my 4'9" frame, is boxy but very, very soft so I just tuck it to get the shape I want (I cannot wear boxy at all - my body needs to be defined). I believe it was $19.
I’m excited to see what you think of the Uniqlo! You have to let me know! I found that you can’t see a bra through theirs bc it’s a pretty heavy weight

Hello!! I’m so glad you are here! I’m not sure if there are elbow length t shirts but I’m officially on the hunt now! ♥️😂

@@cynthiajohnston424 oh I know, same here in NC! 80 one day and 50 the next. It’s frustrating this time of year to dress.

I would love to see you testing loopwheel or tube knit tees.
Thanks. I used to like Lululemon but they discontinued the style I liked
Isn’t that frustrating when you find something you love and they discontinue it
Just so you know, "opaque" is the opposite of 'see-through' (transparent) - the more opaque a color is, the less you can see through it.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!
My favorite white t-shirt is a silk blend by Massimo Dutti..but pricey
Oohhh I need to check that one out! I don’t mind pricey so long as the quality and fit is great. Thanks for the recommendation! ♥️
