Heres my Suzuki Sierra or Samurai of 13 years. 1990 Sj70.
The past year she has undergone a bit of a home restoration and a few new goodies.
I got this car bone stock, and this is how she sits today!

Awesome zooki I brought my first one back in 2010 a 1986 sierra for 200$took me 3 yrs to build was a beast when I finally got it on the road sadly made the mistake and sold it but have I have brought another cause I missed the old one ive got a 1988 I think its a Sierra's registered but the person brought it off it is in bits so a project is cant wait to drive the zooki again im in wa aswell enjoy I mite have to save up to upgrade the motor maybe

superb!!! owned two of these a 1litre carburetted and a 1.3l MPFI from factory. owned these for over 20 years:). Bullet proof little monsters did 250k kms across the two vehicles . Miss them now.
Oh you would be missing them!! They are a little gem that has a special soot in your heart! I won’t be getting rid of this rig 🤩

My Intake also sits on the same side as yours, I like that Snorkle. So Vitara Snorkle should be ok.. Depending on how big that Pipe is. Cause my Intake can take a 72mm inside diameter pipe :-). So Snorkle needs to be the same size.

I daily an 87 tin top, I guess I'll have to fix the 1.6 in the garage now.
Also, you under-sold that rear brake setup. I went the same adjustable route, haven't gotten teh disk conversion yet. Worth it's weight in gold.

@@zaculbricky You could look for a written off or rough Suzuki Baleno or Vitara, or try a wrecker, or even a wanted add :)

In Canada it’s called a Samauri I have a convertible with all calmini suspension and 6.5.1 transfer case gears as well as a header I need to restore it and in process of getting the rest of what I need to Finnish her up cool truck you have👍🏻
Yeah i sometimes accidentally call mine a sammi! My best mate has a soft top too, pretty well done like mine!

Great video and nice to see a very simple AUS video on this great build. Any tips on finding a model as a project? I assume a hardtop is better with potential for less rust compared to soft top. Thanks!
Thanks mate! She’s a great rig, when I look for a Suzuki I make try make sure it’s a leaf sprung wide track. They will be the 1.3L 5 speed with discs on the front rather than drums all round. Personally I prefer hard tops (quiet and no leaks) or a fibre top. Cheers!

I think they make good daily drivers when they are kept factory, but when modified they are easily made thirsty and unreliable. Let me know how it goes!

Hi! All the way from Australia, these are a great first car and a great first 4wd. As it was both of these for me, i have put a lot of money into this sierra, but there is nothing stopping you from having a really capable, fun and thrilling cheaper samurai/sierra!!

The ruf leafs are 2” lifted, but with the big helper leaf taken out as theres not enough weight to need it in the front. You might get away with factory leaves but it may create a bit of body roll, from being so soft

Hello Mr Ridder... I own a 1987 carbureted model...same color also a hardtop..
Original engine...no rebuild...burns oil but still passes emissions test(barely)..
I have contemplated on swapping the engine for a fuel injected motor as you did... Or buying a rebuilt carbureted motor..
The carbureted engine costs $1150 USD rated at 98 horse power...
I use my hardtop for fishing...to reach streams and lakes that are farther and harder to reach... I dont off road...
I have so many questions to ask but this issue is the largest and most important to resolve.

When i got this car it had a very tired 1.3 carby, it burnt oil like it did fuel 😅
The 1.6 efi was the best upgrade, it cruises so well and is such a strong motor!
They are great cars for all types of four wheel driving! Go any where cars ☺️

Hey mate love the little beast. Just curious what bonnet latches you are using, I’ve noticed mine lifts up a bit on the highway and I’m always a little paranoid it will fly up!
Hey mate, they are from Lowrange offroad! I feel the paranoia, my lwb ute is scary haha. There is cheaper ebay ones but aren’t as good. Cheers

How do you engage and disengage the 4 wheel gear for a 90s susuki sierra. Mine broke a shaft recently and i was told it was possibly because of that
Tough and lovely . A hypothetical question - is it possible that if for some reason the rear propeller shaft in a 4wd vehicle is removed , the vehicle can still be driven to a place some 500 kms away ??

In an emergency situation yes it can be done, it should be fine but not ideal. You won’t be able to do it if the front has a locker in it though

Beautiful! Advice needed: Do you think a stock 1.3 71hp would have the power to spin 30 inch tires? We are speaking of asphalt roads, a Zuk for daily drive, only occasional off road trip.
Looking for tire size to compliment the Zuk but not torture him! Thanks in advance for the advice.
Yeah you should be able to roll 30” tyres fine. All depends on the sort of life your 1.3 has had... mine rolled them fine back in the day, definitely a healthy size for the little zooks!

so how will my 1 litre sj410 Suzuki engine perform with 31 10.5 15 tires or can it handle even bigger boots and will it need spacers for the rims for that offset great look, how many inches are best for the body lift too?
Great mod . I also plan to try the rear up front setup on my zuk. I intend to install the leafs with LROR missing link shackles instead of extending the chassis mount. Wondering how she'll behave on the highway at high speeds with the missing link setup

Depends what you’re wanting! A majority of the mods are from Lowrange offroad in the usa and superior engineering australia
And common replaceable parts, ebay
That's a track bar. Not a swaybar.It's needed to keep axle located!. Did not see any swaybars. Nice rig, drive safe.
I would call it a track bar if it were a coil cab, the axle can’t go anywhere on leafs so its restricting sway only. Anyway cheers and much of a muchness! 😎

Hi mate! The colour code is 27G, i also got a sj410 two weeks ago! A little ute 🤩
And they started 5 speed in the late 80’s, so shes a 5 speed 😊😊

Is this a G16 Engine? I am planning to put a g16 engine and power steering to make it everyday use my Samurai 88 g13 Engine no power steering. Some people has suggested me to buy a sidekick or Geo tracker and get everything from it to update my Samurai. What do you think guys? I just want a 16v Engine and power steering conversion for everyday use and some off road trips a year.
Hi mate, it is the g16b. So it’s the efi Version (much better in my opinion)
I’ve not done the power steering conversion. But it’s fairly easy running this motor so I’ve heard

What you say about the assisted wheel encourages me to try to do a swap, another problem is my country rain all like 8 months so an A/C is a must another challenge yet. People told me getting a tracker or sidekick getting pulled everything I need will be the cheaper way.

How high is it raised in total? Ive got some 33” tires laying around and wanne throw them under my 93 samurai. Just not quite sure how much i have to raise it. Also need to get a different engine cuz burning oil and fuel like crazy can barely get 125miles on a full tank
Hi mate its about 4-5” and can fit 33”s easy! 😌😌
Lift won't fit tyres mate, when the suspension compresses the tyre will always end up in the same spot, no matter how much lift you have. I've seen 34" tyres on these with no lift. But with 33s a 2 inch body lift will stop your scrubbing. Just make sure your offset is correct and then you're good to go

Hi mate, It all depends on the quality of ride you want. Bodylift is cheap, get some second hand bigger tyres, or extended shackles for a bit of clearance too. I wouldn’t go bigger than 30” tyres if you’re not going to put money into the driveline etc 😄

Yeah mate, they fold up against the front seats. They came out with two styles, 1 big bench or two singles. Singles are the go i reckon. I’m currently running one in the back now, and i have my fridge next to it
