When people show you who they are, believe them. If the topic of sex comes up in the 1st conversation, they’re clearly only interested in only sex. I think this issue is mostly in YOUR head...in my experiences, most trans girls LIKE their c**ks. MOST want boobs but also want to keep their boy parts as well. I think that the reason for asking is to not assume what the other persons sexual preference is and to make sure they are compatible. It would be a bummer to find out you're not compatible after already spending time dating. Some people can only climax from either top or bottom so if they aren't both open to either option, then it might create an issue later. I don't think someone asking you if you have male hardware is "too personal". You're engaging them for a possible romantic relationship. I think that the reason for asking is to not assume what the other persons sexual preference is and to make sure they are compatible. It would be a bummer to find out you're not compatible after already spending time dating. Some people can only climax from either top or bottom so if they aren't both open to either option, then it might create an issue later. Also, a man wanting to be topped does not mean he's gay, because he may not be attracted to his same sex. There are lots of men who are attracted to femininity and enjoy being topped. There are also lots of transwomen who prefer to top. If they are being aggressive when they ask then of course that's a bummer. For me a trans woman can be a top or a bottom and it doesn't impact their femininity in any way. Being feminine doesn't mean someone is a bottom from my point of view. If a cis woman wants to be on top most of the time (and some do) honestly I see them as a top. It's just rare, is all. However, as a guy that has been seeing trans women for well over ten years, I think that guys typically just ask that purely because they want to know what kind of sex they will likely be having, much like if you're a guy that sees biological women - you expect there to be a vagina. So, while I respect that they are offended, I think it's better to ask with respect rather than entering into an involvement, but everything is great but the intimate portion. I don't think someone asking you if you have male hardware is "too personal". You're engaging them for a possible romantic relationship. The only reason it's a question for you, is because people can't be certain without asking. I think it's unethical for people to hide that information from a potential partner. I think if a relationship starts with dishonesty or lack of openness, there's no hope for it.
