      So exciting!! I'm due 8th October with a baby boy 💙 I have 2 girls already, I honestly had no idea how much I would bleed after my first baby I took the same pads as you and was having to change every 20/30 mins as it honestly was constant 🙊 I suggest you take a few adult nappies tena or always are really good at least for the first few days to a week and then go onto the ones you have they are on the pricey side but so so worth it as I didn't leak once the second time while wearing them! Xx

    You pack just like i do lol! you did a great job! you are the only Mum to be on youtube that has packed and organised well and hasn't overpacked!
    The best pads to use are kotex as they are super soft ,quilted and more absorbent,
    Bioears earplugs will be a life saver for hospital and yes you can still hear the baby through them as a Mum and baby have telepathic link lol!
    I would take a full travel toothpaste (your one looks half full )as your mouth always feels like the bottom of a birdcage during labour as if you stay a couple of days plus labour you will want to brush twice a day at least and your partner will want to brush too.
    If you wanted to downsize even further you can get even smaller bottles for your toiletries ( i get mine from Amazon and Ebay)
    I would personally pack one more dark nightie or long top just incase of it getting soiled by various bodily fluids LOL!
    A bikini top or one of those primark cami cropped bra tops that come in a pack of three would be handy to chuck in just incase you get to use the pool or you decide to labour in the bath so you don't need to sit in a wet top when you move to the bed...
    I found soaking a soft wash cloth(flannel) in tepid water or tearing off a chunk of cotton wool from a big roll or pleat and placing it over the lady garden area after birth was sooooooooo soothing so whilst you wee use the flowing water and then after place the wash cloth in the area for a minute or two and when you need to empty your bowel holding a folded flannel over that area when you are sore especially if you tear or have stitches is important so you are taking strain off making it less scary and less painful ,you can get a pack of three very very soft baby washclothes from the pound shop which you can even use once and discard if you didn't want to wash them or with the cotton wool you can put that straight in the sanitary bin with your pads and disposible pants... yes there is a lot of info lol xxx

    Looks like you have a very comprehensive list :) I'm due with my second in a couple of weeks :D Only thing I'm taking more of this time around is sleepsuits for baba (6) and muslin squares (5). He brought up A LOT of mucus in the first few days despite not feeding much. We only stayed for 1 night and he went through 6 changes of clothes! Wouldn't want to run out :) I know you said you're close to the hospital but with all the restrictions at the mo it may not be as simple as getting someone to just bring you stuff as and when. You may have to wait for visiting hours. I'm seriously over packing this time 🙈 lol xxx

    I took 2 suitcases in aswell one for me and one for my daughter but i never used anything really as i had her on the 5th August 2020 by c section and i was discharged the day after. She only weighed 5lbs 8oz so she was a tiny babba when she was born so all the 0-3 months clothes i had packed in her suitcase was way to big for her so my partner had to go and buy some tiny baby ones. Love watching your videos aswell

  • @mollieminx4170
    @mollieminx4170 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I gave birth 3 weeks ago, I’d say it’s helpful to throw a couple of muslins in there, I used them mainly as a little blanket for baby (was so hot in hospital, I gave birth during the heatwave, so didn’t need a full blanket on her) but they’re useful for so many things. Some little scratch mittens and socks were also handy, their hands and feet can get a little cold if they’re not in babygrows with feet. I was told to change my maternity pad every 2 hours - might’ve been just because I had stitches I’m not sure, but I was kept in for a couple of days so a pack of 10 wouldn’t have lasted me long at all. If you’re intending on breast feeding, I’d also recommend taking some nipple cream/balm- my nipples got ridiculously sore within a couple of days, and I was using nipple cream from the very start after every feed, I think it’s best to try and keep them protected. Also some nappy sacks! If it’s expected to be hot, a handheld mini fan might help too ☺️

    This was so similar to my hospital bag last time! I had a really sicky baby so this time I'll be packing LOTS of muslins and more vests and sleepsuits.
    Last time I did a backpack of extras for both me and baby that stayed in the car, so that if I had a longer than expected stay in hospital then my husband just had to pick up the bag and I didn't have to send him off with a list. Xx
