The evolution of the sound engineers’ style over time is funny to see. It’s like they all chose to evolve their fashion sense as a group rather than as individuals.
When I first heard about ToL, it sounded like a show Alan Partridge would have pitched to Tony Hayers - "Toast of London. I play Steven Toast, a struggling middle-aged actor who gets only shit jobs because my agent never reads the offer's email attachments and I'm having an affair with my enemy's wife who is also a prostitute." Love the show.
This is one of the funniest things in the show Kind of hard to describe to ppl though as a positive reason to watch the show "There's this one bit where he has to say 'yes' a lot ..."
I know! I love this show but it is definitely hard to explain to someone unfamiliar with it or Matt Berry why they need to watch it. Finished watching Season 3 last week and went right back into watching the pilot. Love how Clem's fashion changes over the episodes and seasons. Maybe I can get my older teenagers into it so I had someone to quote "Can you hear me?" to. 🤣
I love how their costumes change from the Pilot to the end of Season 3. Quite the juxtaposition in looks if you go from Season 3 episode 6 and then watch the pilot next. 🤣 I think the costumes are a bit of a gag in themselves as for how over the top they can get. Just like I think there is a background gag in Toast's agent's office that changes up what nude art you see behind Toast. I've only just finished my first rewatch of the series so I'm just starting to notice the little details in the sets.
We had a homework at school, where we talked about our cultural activities including theatre plays, books, filmy etc. What an amating idea to talk about this masterpiece. I just skipped through some description and trhem decided to act this scene by myself. I also thought he wars telling no instead of yes btw. So i talked about 5 minutes how toast and clem fandango are chatting and the whole Clash laughed including professor. It was one of best moments in my life!
I agree, but Matt Berry's voice is just such a huge part of it - I wonder how much of it would really translate. On the other hand, what if they found like a French Matt Berry??
K so... There's an LG party speaker where I work (currys pc world) and it demos itself with THIS. It's spooky as hell cause everytime we turn it off it turns itself back on!
When he glanced over at the script it just killed me 😂
I am still crying 😭
Even though he just said he didn’t need it.
LMAO
Yes
Just seen this for the first time that was so perfectly done 😂😂
Yes! 😂
"I don't need the script, it's just a word" *looks at script* "YES" lmao
i've done the same thing before LOL
It’s only one word
That's my favorite part haha
there are exactly 666 likes to your comment, so I'll refrain...
Love how many times he unofficially said “yes” between all of the official times he said “yes”.
In many different ways as well like tones and that.
Will never forgive Matt Berry for how painfully accurate this is.
Worked in voice work?
@@mendelovitch”Yes”.
@@johnferry7778 This is Clem Fandango. Can you hear me? Sorry, could we get that one more time?

That happens with every friend group to ever exist

@@Alphoric lmao it really doesn't.
They're all actually part of 1 organism
Ray Purchase would be able to do this in one take. Save a lot of people a lot of time.
Ray BLOODY Purchase?!?
🤣
Well, well, well...
Well tough TIT, Toast!
His very first "yes" is my favorite o the bunch
Craig_M it’s such a confirmative Yes! Same here haha

I think of this every time I say "yes".
Hahhaah I love how he keeps saying yes the correct way in between the bad yeahs -
I love this show, wish they made more seasons.
They’re making a new season now! Except it’s Toast of Tinseltown, with Toast moving to Hollywood. I can’t wait
"Yes I can hear you Clem Fandango"
I love the way they keep saying he's so great, but their facial expressions look like they're at a funeral!

Grab that 1UP.
"Yes!"
This is literally what voice over actors do. I can't imagine how tedious making a long dialogue heavy game like witcher or dragon age is.
I like the part when he says 'Yes'.
Yes, yes, me too.
Yes
With a little more energy in his own time of course!
@@emanuelrivera8048 Yes!
We all do
That second yes was perfect
One of the funniest things in modern history. I'm currently trying to make a ringtone of this.
Zedge has it already
Edit, damn 3 years too late I guess
You missed the bit where he said yes so enthusiastically he gave himself a headache
Only a voice over artist knows the feeling....

YES I CAN HEAR YOU CLEM FANDANGO!
Such a funny and well written program...very clever
This is 1 minute and 35 seconds that I must have rewatched 500 times over the last few years.
How would you feel about doing a 'no'?
Lost it when he glanced at the script 😂🤣😂🤣😂
This is now my notification tone. It has enriched my life.
1:11 onwards - never has 'yes!' sounded so much like 'no'.
YES!
This show is pretty brilliant
He definitely checked out the sheet. It is a yes day for Toast.

So flipping amazing :D
Why are Danny and Clem both dressed like 50's dads? It's these bizarre little details that help make this programme such genius

I agree, but Matt Berry's voice is just such a huge part of it - I wonder how much of it would really translate. On the other hand, what if they found like a French Matt Berry??
Sí!
Matt Berry’s voice is kind of what makes so much of the show funny so I’m not quite sure how that would work.

I think it's on BritBox now if that's available where you're at.
Clem Fandango!
