We live in Charlotte and own a Volvo XC40 Recharge. I find the Google nav superb at SoC est. It factors in elevation changes and is better then the Mod3LR we also own. The E-GMP GoM other road trippers call out seems annoying as hell. I really feel well taken care of with the Google nav SoC estimates. I am not a big fan of EA. EVgo Renew stations are pretty common in Atlanta, Raleigh, & Charlotte. Charlotte has two. They are never swarmed like EA. I also use a lot of regional options like Duke Energy Park & Plug DCFC. I pretty rarely touch EA. That is just me though. I am now an EVgo Plus Max member. For me that seems to make the most sense. It also does Autocharge+ with my Volvo, so I only need to plug in. No RFID swipe or iPhone app needed. Thx for the vid. I really enjoyed. I will be in the "Tail of the Dragon" area in a few weeks time on an EV road trip to the Great Smoky Mtn NP Cades Cove. Good recon on your vid. ;-}
Interesting, illuminating episode, Joe. I grew tired of the CCS drama along I-75 and ended up trading in an Ioniq 5 for a Model Y. Life’s too short to deal with charging stresses. Safe travels!
Been watching you through the ID.4 days and now the Polestar 2. Definitely no shortage of great EV options nowadays so look forward to seeing what is next.
I have the ‘23 DM W/Pilot since September. I draw 100 mile circle from home charger; if my trip is beyond that, I take my ICE X1. DC charging is still not predictable or available enough for me. Besides, you don’t want to outrun a hurricane in an EV from SW Florida😢
7:08 I rented Polestar a few weeks ago, and missed not having adaptive cruise control. It had sunroof and nice speaker, but not that. Really needs to be standard to compete with Tesla on price.
Wow amazing video! I have been the owner of a 2022 Single Motor P2 for around 8 months and absolutely love the car. Only issue is 1 month into my purchase is wish I went with dual motor and the pilot package. I am curious how you think the pilot package compares to other highway assist technologies on other cars?
@@EVMotoring Fun videos btw, having just done two months a part trips from Chicago to Orlando, your videos are making me happy I picked Tesla. I had a Bolt and chose to move away from the public infrastructure. It's been so much better, also my wife is happy when chargers just work.
I don’t think 16amps would be the difference of not receiving a full charge over night. My Tesla only adds about an hour to charging if I were to change from 32 to 48amps from 50-100 pct.
Great video, thanks. Question: a German video blogger claims, he experiences 15% better efficiency when switching off (yes, off) one pedal driving in city traffic on the Polestar 2. Have you tried similar? Would be very interested in your experience.
I rented a Polestar 2 from Hertz and loved it better driver than my Tesla model 3 except for the charging system
It'll be able to use the tesla network in June or July.
@@lowfuel6089of this year? And would it be for the other polestar 2 models too? Like the 2022 and the 2023 P2 version ?
@@chasxreacts155 yes this year, should be for all models and years
Charged a bunch at Lafayette on Chicago trips. indy south seen a bunch of cool stuff there . Clarksville is a great ea stop.

I’m glad you like your Volvo! I actually wanted to get a C40 instead of the P2 but local dealers in Chicagoland weren’t so friendly to deal with.

I made the switch to an LFP model 3
Good video you are right about cruise control much easier thanks again for video

That’s a great 2 car solution!

You can add you kWh to you drivers display next to miles

I regret not getting the pilot as well. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to test it in comparison.
I've been experienced many clippers that do 48 amps now they just power share most likely.
Every install is different. I’ve also installed 48 clippers but most times it’s just 32 since that’s a cheaper install (thinner wires)

It’s about 3 kW per hour
Does the base model 2022 comes with heat pump? Does the 2021 comes with heat pump (with plus package)?
I believe it’s in the plus package as well.

15% seems really extreme. I would expect roughly 5% difference
If you have a problem re-initiating a charge after the app crashes… Sign Out of the app from the Account tab (then go to very bottom of page)
When are you passing by Savannah? I want to say hi
I did on this last trip. I think I’ll be down there in a couple months. (Not sure on exact dates yet)
Where is your wife? We miss seeing her!
I second that question
Stop all the yapping and just drive
