    Some more small ones... No Thanks!, Star Realms, Sleuth, Lost Cities, Ogre Pocket, A Fake Artist Goes to New York, Felix: The Cat in the Sack, Friday, Lost Legacy, Hey! That's My Fish!, Roll For It!, Hostage Negotiator, and Good Cop, Bad Cop.

    why did they even put splendor in such a big box?

    My hubby & I went on our honeymoon cruise last year. Space was small for packing everything. We brought a very small version of King of Tokyo: 2 characters (no stands), cards, energy cubes & dice. When one of us went to Tokyo, we just put our character in the middle of the table. It either was lying flat there or in front of us. We could have even done away with the cubes and just kept track on paper. We also brought Mr. Jack Pocket, which is in a small box. Fun to bring SOMETHING to play!

      Good call on King of Kokyo! It's relatively uncommon to have the minimalist thing be viable for games, but can be SO helpful. All of the pocket games are great, for sure. I love the Hive one as well as Mr. Jack. Hope you had an awesome time on the trip!

    Thanks for another great video! I'd love to see this top 5 redone taking into account all the new games that have come out in the past 5 years. I really enjoy DIG from Pack o Games. It's the size of a pack of bubble gum. Ninja Academy is a small box dexterity game recently added to my collection that I'm looking forward to trying. It seems that it will be just as much fun for epic fails as epic wins for a given challenge.

      Thanks so much for the comment, and glad you're enjoying my videos, even the older ones :D . Solid recommendations on the games, to be sure, and I have been planning on updating some of these older lists, so no worries there. Bit of a combination between trying to come up with new ideas being slow and the fact that I've been doing this for far too long at this point :P .

      @@DannyCGamingFandomandScience You are quite welcome. I don't want to be stuck on all the new games. So I've added quite a few of your older videos to a watch list to gradually work through. Each video at the end you invite comments. I figure it's nice to know that your content is being watched and appreciated. :)

    • @DannyCGamingFandomandScience
      @DannyCGamingFandomandScience  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Always nice to know that things are being watched! Even if it's the older videos. As it happens, a lot of my older videos are where many of my current views come from, if all the analytics are to be believed, which makes sense.

    Best small game is Harbour, just try it, its easy with quite deep tactics and even if it is quite limited, you have to think on every turn and its just awesome!!

    I am glad you include Timeline into the list, I love Cardline: Animals as much as Timeline, as a person who love animals than history, Cardline is a bit better and fun. As the cards are a little bigger and there are more variant of the gameplay. Love Letter, Citadels, Splendor and One Night Ultimate Werewolf are all classic too. Great list. These are amazing when being played.

      Thanks very much for the comment! I honestly hadn't heard of Cardline before - I'll have to check it out at some point. I'm definitely an animal fan, though, so I'd be glad to try it out.

    A fun game, that I highly recommend, is called Quarto. This games comes in a miniature form and fits into pretty much any bag. The one draw back is that the game and can only host two players, but the games are usually quick enough that everyone can play within a small amount of time. One of my favorite games, and friends think it's pretty fun too.

    An updated podcast on this subject should definitely include one or more of the Tiny Epic games. Tiny Epic Galaxies as pretty much considered the best, but they have a good variety to cover all your types.

      @DannyCGamingFandomandScience  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks very much for the suggestions! I've not played any of the Tiny Epic games, unfortunately, but have had them on my list for awhile at this point. Not sure if I'll update this particular list at some point, but may.

    With my new game bag game size isn't as big of an issue--I can fit Medina comfortably inside! However, I love small card games like Castles of Burgundy: The Card Game (which takes up a bit of table space btw) and Treasure Lair, and I love how the board for Condottiere fits snugly in a small box, which makes it easy to regularly bring the latter 3 to game nights. Late post I apologize :P

      I've been debating about getting a few board game bags - I have a big plastic tote that I've been using, and it fits quite a few games, but it's bulky and awkward. It's a tough thing to balance. Good to be smart about packing regardless, though; glad to hear it!

    I think you should check out Sail to India and/or Valley of the Kings. Don't like Timeline mostly because lots of mistakes on the cards. Somewhere on BGG there is a list of the errata for it.

    • @williammcguinness795
      @williammcguinness795 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The errata is based on player input (including my brother who goes by crito13 on BGG. Sail to India is going to have a stand alone expansion called Valley of Kings:Afterlife.

    IT'S HERE! Now, on Kickstarter, you can fund our 2 player, very intense, strategy board game, Keeper's Dissension: Unchained.
    BUT WAIT! You can try it NOW on Tabletop Simulator via workshop.
    Just look it up. That's Keeper's Dissension: Unchained.
    So grab a friend, look at the rules(after downloading) and fund the game to own
    the physical game yourself. More factions and more art and boards in the future
    (if successful)

      +Swordlord3924 it plays like magic chess with an upgradable "hero". Try it out! There's a story to the game as well, here: keepersdissension.tumblr.com/
      Please take the time to look it over, it may very well be worth the time.

      Definitely would be on a bigger list, but the biggest issue for me is the player number limitation, which is something I wanted to avoid for this. I tried to focus on games that are a bit more versatile in player number, interactions, etc. Regardless thank you very much for the comment!

  • @JaKamps
    @JaKamps 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Idk, I just don't care for the One Night games, or even Resistance as much as a regular game of Mafia/Werewolf, or different Hidden Role games (such as Saboteur, Bang!)
    I really feel Coup deserves a mention. Perhaps even Hive, Jaipur, or Fairy Tale. Get Bit! is a good choice as well. Star Realms is also a good choice. Martian Dice & Agent Hunter are ok.

    • @JaKamps
      @JaKamps 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I now what you mean about 2 player games. I prefer to play with 3 or more players, but am not always able to.
      One Night just seems a bit too quick, & chaotic for me. I think I light time to accuse & deiiberate a decision with other players. The player count for Resistance & Mafia/Wereworlf can be a problem. I have Avalon but for some reason seems less exciting or more complicated than Mafia/Werewolf.

    @AlexBrito77 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm really liking your videos! But for this particular list I wish you have included only games which are really small in their original box. I was looking for games to purchase when I travel and I definitely wouldn't just leave the original box behind. :P

    • @DannyCGamingFandomandScience
      @DannyCGamingFandomandScience  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmmm; there's a lot of pocket editions of games like Hive, Mr. Jack, and Catan has a really small 2p edition. Hanabi is potentially good if you have the right group, as well. A lot of it depends on how many people you're looking at playing with and how complex of games - relatively few physically small games are really complex, gameplay wise. Either way, thanks very much for the comment!

    • @DannyCGamingFandomandScience
      @DannyCGamingFandomandScience  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the question! Haven't done reviews for either, no, but they're both pretty fun. Galaxy Trucker is just ridiculous craziness constantly with ship building, but surprisingly strategic. Cargo Noir is much more mellow and does a decent job with the theme, and the strategy between the random bag goods and bit of backstabbing give it just enough "euro-ness".
