Great list, nice to see content that isn't just the usual suspects. Glad to see love for Raptor, sadly my 2 player buddy didn't enjoy it as much so not sure when I'll get to play it again!
I'm excited to see the Marvel implementation. As a fan of DC characters, I'm jealous of all the excellent Marvel games. I just want a decent Justice League game!
@@TheVlad1616 i would just go with whatever characters appeal to you the most. My favorite is Cobble&Fog. It has 4 characters that I enjoy for about 40$. For 30$ you could try the sets with only two characters(big foot/robin hood or jurassic park) if you just wanted to test the water.
such a good list, so many I have not heard of. We love Fox in the Forest and Fox in the Forest duet. We like abstract games like SET, Othello and Prime Climb. And Splendor of course.
Targi is my all time favorite 2 player game. It can be a bit cutty tho. Others we really like are Jaipur, Patchwork, 7 Wonders Duel, Dragonheart ( an old Kosmos 2 player), and Shards of Infinity. I need to try Mandala. I hear its very good. Nice list. Thanks for the video.
Great list! Funny hearing your situation with Imhotep the Duel. We really like the original at 2 player and never felt the need to look in to Duel. I always like seeing Haven talked about more. Never understood why more people don't bring it up in 2 player game discussions.

@@TheLightenUpInitiative Hive is similar to chess but shorter, no setup and no board involved. You can be shut out by a savvier and more experienced player so it can be a bit frustrating if you're playing online so playing friends in person is far more preferable. Every game of Hive you play makes you want to play again and get better at it. Some people prefer the Hive Pocket edition for its smaller pieces and portability but I bought Hive Carbon for its beautiful black and white only look.
I FEEL like the boardgame "war chest" should have been included this video. But other than that, those are some good fine 2 player games that even I'd need to google about.
Adore Raptor. Do you like any of the big two-player games like War of the Ring or Star Wars: Rebellion, for example? 1775 is another fun one. I am assuming they are too "attacky" for your tastes? lol ;-)
I may have missed it but everyone of the games on this list is a conflict game. Nothing wrong with this but one winner and a loser. As opposed to beat the game or lose together.

Unmatched has gotten even better with time. Cobble&Fog, and buffy set are amazing. Bruce lee is my favorite. They announced marvel sets for 2021.

My theory is that if a Red Raven Game isn't in the Above and Below/Near and Far universe, it tends to get overlooked. Which is a shame!
Haven looks so cool. I can imagine it getting less love from the board game community because its practically ungoogleable due to Gloomhaven xD

I actually haven't played many of the big games. I think I tend to enjoy big games more when more people are involved. Like Mansions of Madness!
My favourite 2 player only games would be Kahuna, Summoner Wars and Juipur.
I have Summoner Wars, just haven't played it yet. Looking forward to trying it!
