  • Welcome to my house of nightmares! We have something for the dark part of everyone. I haven't read any of these myself (hence the TBR part), but figured the list might be useful to those looking for horror recommendations or scouting out f---ing creepy books to get into the Halloween spirit.
Thanks so much for watching! Happy Halloween & happy reading!~ Chat to me in the comments belowww :)
    Works Mentioned:
Battle Royale (バトル・ロワイアル) - Koushun Takami
Parasite Eve (パラサイト・イヴ) - Hideaki Sena
    Confessions (告白) - Kanae Minato
People Who Eat Darkness: The Fate of Lucie Blackman - Richard Lloyd Parry
The Summer of the Ubume (姑獲鳥の夏) - Natsuhiko Kyogoku
    Piercing (ピアッシング) - Ryū Murakami
In the Miso Soup (イン ザ・ミソスープ) - Ryū Murakami
Summer, Fireworks, My Corpse - Otsuichi
    Goth - Otsuichi
Also, you know how I was saying that Ryū Murakami is superrr dark and superrr not at all what Japan wants their image to be like? Here's a review of him I found that is hilarious and really interesting: www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/bo...

I Read Audition and Piercing by Ryu Murakami this month and Confessions by Kanae Minato, half way through with Battle Royale (second time reading) 😋 basically all I'm interested now is Japanese horror/Mystery books. Added these to my TBR ,I'm Going to pick up Goth by Otsuichi and Ring. Will also try to read more of Ryu Murakami 😛
Also going to take another shot at the Graveyard apartment by Mariko Koike which I left half way through earlier in the year .
    Great Video new sub 😃

Glad to hear I'm not alone in my love of Japanese horror :))) Also check out my 10 Twisted Tales video if you like horror/mystery. Not all of them are Japanese, but all of them are really horrific in some way or another 💀💀💀

Katadactyl I came upon your video when I looked up Goth by Otsuichi. I was looking forJapanese horror recommendations all October long but most videos were the usual young adult 'horror' recommendations, Thanks I'll check out that vid🔪😀

I thought the master of Japanese horror was Junji Ito
