    US Navy does not use the term "rank" for enlisted personnel. It uses Rate for pay grade and Rating for the job the sailor performs.

    A couple of things. I am not sure why you have mixed foreign navy personnel into a video about the US Navy. Also, you should use the current MCPON. His picture is readily available. The guy you used was several MCPONs back. Finally, enlisted naval personnel don't have ranks. They have rate (i.e. pay grade) and rating (job title). E-6, Petty Officers First Class are uniquely positioned between the lower rated sailors and the chief petty officers. They have much more authority and managerial responsibility.

    umm... WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS. 0:22 Your photo's of E-1's aren't even American Sailors. Look at their caps they say H.M.A.S. That's "Her Majesties Australian Ship. Your E-2 is a boot camp photo so in reality he's wearing a E-1's uniform with out a striker patch. 3:44 is a Master Chief, But He's a Coastguardsman, not a sailor. The United States Navy will where a combination cover with his gold fouled anchor, and two white stars with a superimposed USN. My Source.... I'm a Second Class Petty Officer. You're jacked up three ways to Sunday.

      Your right two leading hands ( leading seaman or killicks RN naval slang ) of HMRAS Cerberus a training establishment or a stone frigate more RN slang. I like you get pissed off with silly errors .All Petty Officers are first class or so they told me !!

      Robert Murphy he did in fact say "RAN" in his post, we call it the Canadian Navy all the time, everyone knows that it it "royal" we just don't need to say it.

      I support your patriotism, but don't overdo it. Every currently serving member of the RAN calls it the Australian Navy, but it's usually just the Navy.

    Two Deployments, during Three Operational Conflicts, Gunner's Mate 2nd Class, if your interested in this rate, then choose it as your fate. not many videos are involving Gunner's Mate's rates.

    I feel like as with the change in uniforms, the Navy will probably change ranks to be similar to Army/Air Force ranks. Oh, and I'm not sure if this was real or not, but one former sailor showed me a picture of someone who was in the Navy for over 20-years, but was still a Seaman (E-3).

    Feeling sad ,I spoke to a friend of,The Missing Sub in how search was called off,learning from my friend it became a danger to keep looking because of water pressure;Therefore why not build an Elevator mile away from shore into the ground to teach the deep area to rescure in the future,I"m heart broken for them...

    Other than the fact that only commissioned officers have ranks in the Navy, a great video.

    • @barbaramauntler9264

      Since the full title of a warrant officer is "commissioned warrant officer," we are both right.

    • @reminder9146
      @reminder9146 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Barbara Mauntler The title of Warrant officers are "Warrant Officer 1" "Chief Warrent Officer 2" "Chief Warrant Officer 3" Chief Warrant Officer 4" Chief Warrant Officer 5" and are not considered "Commissioned Officers" though CWO2 through CWO5 (yes that's the correct shorthand for it) receive a commission

    • @roberthudson1959
      @roberthudson1959 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reminder9146 The "commissioned warrant officer" language came from the USN website, but I am willing to admit the possibility of a typo.

    • @reminder9146
      @reminder9146 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roberthudson1959 When did you say Commissioned Warrant Officer? If the Navy used it 'commissioned' was used as a verb, adverb, or adjective not a part of title. But you're original statement is correct. Only Officers have ranks.

    Why the word "Petty" is used? Petty is trivial, unimportant, etc. I don't get it's use. What does it mean? Thanks for your presentation. I'm not sure if there are any errors as I see some people stating in the comments, but, I know nothing about this subject. Thanks for sharing.
